2012 Chevrolet Traverse - I love the look and ride of my car, but the blind spots kill me.

I like the look of my car very much and I think others do to since I often get compliments about it. It has comfortable fit my family of 5 now for 3 years. It allows me to pick up my kids from school and they can easily pile in and find there own "space" in the back. They also enjoy the entertainment package and can easily see the pull down television. The ride seems smooth and comfortable, especially when you can warm up your leather seats. After three years of heavy use, my car's interior still looks very nice. The main problem I have with my car is that there are too many blind spots and I have become more aware of them as the years past. I hate feeling like I can't see everything around me. I have had several times not seen a bicyclist or walker because the are concealed by the... (more)
Story
I love being able to pick up all my kids' friends at school and they compliment me on how much they love riding in the car because it gives them enough room.
Pros
I have always enjoyed the room in the back of the vehicle and the look of the inside and outside of my car. I can fit seven people comfortably in my car and they can easily pass from the middle seats to the back seats. The pull down television has been very useful on trips and can be seen by the entire back seat. I also really appreciate the back up camera since it helps with some of the blind spots when backing the vehicle up.
Cons
I really do not like the visibility of this vehicle and as I continue to drive it, the worse I feel about it. I do not like the huge bar that is between the door and the front windshield. It has concealed too many objects over my three year experience that I now look in front of this bar and behind (having to move my whole body to do so) to feel comfortable moving forward with my car. The back up camera does help with the visibility when backing up, but sometimes it is too sensitive and will beep even when the roads change color.

This is the first time I've owned a Chevy Traverse and I would buy one again and would recommend to friends and family. The vehicle is very spacious, I have 3 boys and a very tall husband, so extra room is always good. The caption chairs allow my boys the extra space they need.....You know, so they're not touching each other. The seats move back real far allowing for plenty of leg room for my husband.....My feet don't even touch the paddles when the seat is back that far.....Oh, the struggle of being short! The back storage is a nice size and having the third row seats fold flat is great for the big grocery orders. I've even had a four feet long dresser in it with no trouble. I love the extra features on my Traverse, like the leather seats, so easy to wipe clean especially with kid... (more)
Story
Going on a little weekend trip with my husband, 3 boys & in-laws. We went to Gettysburg, PA see the battlefields. My father-in-law had a battlefield tour CD that we popped in and drove around the battlefields listening and stopping and getting out to see the sites. Was a great trip and my Traverse got us there and back!
Pros
Top Pros: Love how well it handles in the snow....Very important when you're driving with kids in the car. We always feel safe. Lots of SPACE! We've had 4 adults, 3 kids (one in a car seat), overnight bags & extras all in my Traverse at one time. No one was uncomfortable...Lots of room.
Cons
Top Cons: I wish the second row caption seats folded flat like the third row seat.
