I love so many things about the Chevy Traverse. It has lots of room - including leg room - for all passengers. It gets very good gas mileage and drives very smooth. It is a very quiet running car. Even when it idles, you can barely hear the engine. It has the get up & go that I prefer. When I need to stop quickly, there are no issues or worries that I will not be able to stop in time. It corners well in steep curves and handles nicely on the interstate. The back up camera is a nice feature. I like the different features it has in the console area. I love the smaller hidden compartment in the back hatch area. I can auto start the car so it can warm up or cool down before I get in the vehicle. I like the Bose speaker system and the radio setup. There are lots of options in ways to play m... (more)
Story
The size of the vehicle allows me to squeeze into parking spaces and sit high up so I can see over the fence of the kids playing soccer. But when it's raining, I can stay in the car and watch the whole game without getting soaked! Other parents complain that their car was too short & they didn't like trying to look through the chain link fence. It was not a problem for us!! We ended up with 2 ... (more)
Pros
The auto-start feature and the way it cools down or heats up so quickly. The look of the car. It think it's sporty yet sophisticated all at the same time. The handling of the car - it turns on a dime. It quickly gets up to speed when you need it to and it stops just as quickly. The ease of folding down the back row seats. The music options available - radio, Pandora, XM radio, etc. The gas mileage.
Cons
The passenger seats will not recline. They do but not enough to make a big difference. That the actual key and the key fob are on 2 separate rings. I like it so much better when the fob portion is at the end of the actual old fashioned key. I don't like having to take up extra space on my key ring. There isn't a lot of cargo space left if you are carrying 7 passengers. Once all the seats are taken - there is just very limited cargo space available. There are blind spots because of the high seats & head rests.

We bought our Traverse about three months ago. We have three children, and the Traverse provides enough space for all three children to have their own space. When my husband and I were vehicle shopping, we were looking for an SUV with lots of room to store sports equipment, musical instruments, backpacks, etc., and have room for the kids to sit comfortably, but also it needed to fit in our very modest budget. We had it narrowed down to the Traverse and a Buick Enclave. We ended up going with the Traverse simply because it seemed to have more room. The overall quality of the vehicle is great. Everything seems to built very sturdy. This is the first Chevrolet I've ever purchased, and based on what I know and have experienced in the short three months that we've had our Traverse, I would ... (more)
Story
We live fairly close to the beach. We are able to fit beach chairs, toys, cooler, etc., in the trunk of the car.
Pros
One of the things we were specifically looking for when vehicle shopping was we needed an SUV with captain seats. The Traverse was one of the few vehicles in our price range with that option. The seats are wide enough to hold the different size car seats that we need. The ride itself is very smooth. I haven't noticed anything rattling or shaking while riding. The back-up camera is large enough to clearly see while you're backing up. The third-row seat seems to have plenty of room. I've had to sit in the back seat a few times, and I feel like I have enough leg room, and I am 5'7". I don't t... (more)
Cons
One of the things I immediately noticed that I didn't like was the headrest for the driver and passenger seats. They tend to tilt forward, which doesn't allow you to actually rest your head. It just seems to be an awkward position for a headrest. I don't understand it. It also seems to guzzle gas very quickly. According to the meter, it says we're getting around 20 mpg, but it just seems that I can actually see the gas hand going down as I drive. I'm not a big fan of the radio in the Traverse. There is not a scan option to go through the radio stations, so you have to repeatedly press the ... (more)
