2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer - Up and down
The quality of the vehicle kind of lacks from what I think a Chevy should be. It has a lot of rattle and different things that happen. It has very poor traction in snow and gravel. Driving around on country roads in winter is not advised. It actually hauled a 22ft boat without a problem for 250 miles each way. It seems to be kind of falling apart after the 100,000 mile mark. Seals on the doors leak and make a terrible noise. When I bought this vehicle I was thinking it would ride smoother but, its pretty rough.
Story
My girlfriend and I were headed to Bassett Nebraska and when we got about an hour away my speedometer just ups and quits working. I had to drive through multiple towns trying not to speed.
Pros
I love all the space this vehicle has compared to it counter parts. The engine has a nice get up and go.
Cons
After about 100,000 miles the electrical really started to fall apart. Things shorting out and others just not working at all. I have had to replace the speedometer 3 time so far and it still comes and goes as it pleases. Rides fairly rough on highway and city streets. The seat belts are severely uncomfortable. They like to ride up on your neck and give you small rug burns.
2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer - Reliable year-round vehicle.
The Chevy Trailblazer is one of the best cars I've ever owned. After owning many used vehicles over the years, I've finally found one that doesn't break down multiple times per year. It has superior four-wheel drive and as long as I drive slow and smart, I have had no problems driving this truck through snow (and we've had a lot of snow lately). It's also a very spacious vehicle with plenty of room for the driver/passengers. The very back also has plenty of room for carrying items such as my golf clubs or musical instruments. The only negatives I can think of are a little bit of rust near the bottoms of the doors and a back windshield wiper that bumps into the hatchback door knob, despite it being the correct fit according to the manuals. The tires also tend to gradually deflate due to... (more)
Story
Just the other week I thought my tires had gone flat since my car was wobbling. I got out to check and immediately realized the roads were covered in ice. Thanks to my car "telling" me something was different, I was able to shift into four-wheel drive and take it super easy. It's a blast driving this thing slowly, and watching the snow fall at night provided the roads are quiet.
Pros
Reliability. Four-wheel drive. Roomy/spacious seats and trunk area.
Cons
Speedometer needed replacing. Tires slowly lose air. Rear wiper doesn't fit due to latch handle position. Little bit of rust. Head gasket needed flushing.
