Our Chevrolet Suburban has been a wonderful vehicle for us. We area always on the go - from kids sporting events and practices, to hauling our boat to the beach, bringing dogs to the vets, and generally going on road trips - we do it all in this vehicle. We live in the Northeast, where we get a lot of snow and ice, and the Suburban has always been great in the snow. It has been very good to us service-wise, and we have not needed anything major done to it, besides replacing the "knock sensors". It does seem to need tires a bit more often that our other vehicles did, but this could be because of where we take and use this, in addition to hauling a camper and/or a boat on a lot of occasions. I recommend financing due to cost, unless you can afford to pay cash or get a better rate than wh... (more)
Story
We took it out to Nauset Beach on the Cape and were camping with it for almost a week. It was a lot of fun 4-wheeling on the dunes and living out on the beach for a week.
Pros
It is comfortable to seat 8 people and still have room for goods in the roomy trunk area. We get fairly good gas mileage for a big SUV, not great, but better than the Ford Expedition we used to have.
Cons
My only issue is that it does not sit up as high as our old SUV used to. It seems somewhat lower, almost like a car, and I like being up higher than other cars on the road.

I love my Chevrolet Suburban 2500. It has plenty of pulling power which was the main reason we purchased it. The Suburban also has plenty of passenger/cargo room for our large family and all of our stuff. The roof entertainment system is amazing and keeps the kids occupied and the parents sane on long trips across the county. It has made many long drives with us, and the ride is comfortable and not noisy. I love the extras like heated seats, power windows/locks/seats, navigation, remote start, leather seats, and rearview camera. It is the second Suburban we have owned and will likely be return customers in the future. On the other hand we have a black suburban with tan interior. The black on the outside always looks dirty and the tan on the inside shows every spill from our kids. Our... (more)
Story
Watching others drive in the snow is funny, while our 4X4 Suburban (that sits high off the ground) has no trouble.
Pros
Leather seats are easier to clean, heated seats, power locks/remote start, entertainment system, and rearview camera.
Cons
Leather seats don't seem to wear well and gas mileage could be better.
