My 2000 Chevy Suburban was initially purchased to outfit my growing family with enough trunk space to fit all of the extras that came along with a family in addition to just normal life needs. I've owned this vehicle for almost five years and have been extremely impressed with it. With regular maintenance we have had almost no big issues with it and it has been extremely reliable on any long road trips. I feel that it is also extremely safe for my four kids to be riding in it. It has dual front air bags as well as side air bags. It has captain seats that will harness car seats as well as in the back. I also love that you can easily fit three people in the back with ample head and feet room. Although, it is tight to fit them side by side and you can fit three car seats across the back. ... (more)
Story
We were experiencing quite a bit of rain and we took this car out to our new house that we were building and I thought we would be ok to drive up to the work site. Wrong. I got my car stuck with all my kids in it and had to kick it into four wheel drive. This proceeded to throw heavy mud up all over my car. It looked like we were just in a mud run with my car as we drove back home with it kick... (more)
Pros
The amount of ample space that you have for both people and your stuff. It has a large back end that will fit strollers, wagons, groceries, clothes, etc. It is safety rated really well.
Cons
It rusted out on the bottom of the car significantly and it costs quite a bit to get it repaired. It also has very low gas mileage.

Overall this vehicle has a very strong body and doors. Makes me feel very safe with not too much "plastic" feel in places like most newer vehicles. It feels like a "tanker" on the road and no one can run me over - I like that security. That security goes far when I have children aboard. I can even put the dogs in the back!
Story
Going tail-gating and opening the back to sit there and having a BBQ in the parking lot. When one of the little ones were tired, I was able to put her down in the back seat to sleep while the rest had a blast. Tail-gating is one the fun times we had.
Pros
My top favorite features are as follows... There is plenty of room in the vehicle no matter what I do. Comfort is a plus, can drive for many miles or take a trip and be comfortable. My vehicle is lifted a bit and can see a few vehicles up in front of me, makes driving less stressful. I can put the back seats down and make even more room! There is cruise control, love it!
Cons
Need better antennae, radio just never comes in well, even with a new one. Better interior carpet, would be nice to make a little softer. The driver side window, instead of heading all the way down when you tap it, goes only a little. Wish it was a little better on gas.
