The Ultimate in Family Vehicles
Our Chevrolet Suburban has been a wonderful vehicle for us. We area always on the go - from kids sporting events and practices, to hauling our boat to the beach, bringing dogs to the vets, and generally going on road trips - we do it all in this vehicle. It is comfortable to seat 8 people and still have room for goods in the roomy trunk area. We get fairly good gas mileage for a big SUV, not great, but better than the Ford Expedition we used to have. We lived for a while in the Northeast, where we got a lot of snow and ice, and the Suburban had always been great in the snow. My only issue is that it does not sit up as high as our old SUV used to. It seems somewhat lower, almost like a car, and I like being up higher than other cars on the road. It has been very good to us service-wise, and we have not needed anything major done to it, besides replacing the "knock sensors". It does seem to need tires a bit more often that our other vehicles did, but this could be because of where we take and use this, in addition to hauling a camper and/or a boat on a lot of occasions.

This is an exceptional car. I have 4 children from age 8-18. Despite the fact they are girls, they are slobs who are very hard on everything. This car has withstood it all. I have driven it over 120k miles, and it still runs great. The trim work miraculously has stayed intact. The children prefer to travel in the car because it is roomy and comfortable. I have to agree that it is a comfortable drive. We did have to have the transmission replaced at 96k miles, but it was still under warranty. Around 100k miles, the aux cord port started to be less reliable. This model does not have Bluetooth, but it does have a USB port which you can play your music through, so it isn't a major deal not to have the aux port. This car has taken a beating with my large family, pets, and frequent road trips. I know this car will take us through the middle child's high school graduation, and we will be replacing it with another Chevy SUV.
