All in all, the vehicle seems well-made. The only time you hear a sound aside from the typical engine noise is if you are driving with the windows down and one of the rear seat belts is caught in the wind. There's nothing loose in the 'cab' of the car. The stereo is plenty loud and the AUX jack allows me to use my phone hands-free, something essential since in the state where I live using a hand-held device while driving is illegal. It gets good mileage, almost right on the factory ratings, and I've had very little trouble with it.
Story
One of our three kids is homeschooled, so he calls it his "bus to life," as we use it for learning-related field trips from time to time. He enjoys being the "navigator" as he is given two choices of where to go, and then maps out a route, giving me directions as needed along the way.
Pros
The one thing I can say about this car that's been true of the multiple Ford vehicles I've owned/driven is the air conditioning... it CRANKS. This was a selling point to me. Some brands simply don't have A/C units as good as those in a Ford; no idea why. Even on the hottest day, you can start the car, turn on the A/C, and count backwards from 10. By the time you get to 3, it's blowing very cold. Also, I was never a fan of electric ANYTHING until this car; the power windows, mirrors and locks ACTUALLY WORK several years after purchase, unlike in the two other cars I had with these features.... Cons
The transmission is slow to switch between drive and reverse. I found this a problem the first time the car got stuck in snow and I had no help rocking it. You can rock a car yourself to help get free of snow, if it's an automatic by switching back and forth quickly between Drive and Reverse [you can do it in a stick, too, but it's a bit harder sometimes] but there's... a bit of lag in this car doing that. I got my 2012 Ford Fusion SE about a year and a half ago, and it has been a great car so far. I got my car used, and it actually had quite a lot of miles on it (120,000). None the less, this car has been reliable, fuel efficient and overall a really great car. I have had very few problem regarding this care. Just this week was the first time my check engine light has ever come on, and it turned out to be just a fluke thing pertaining to the fact that these cars have no gas cap. Routine tire rotation and oil changes are the only things I have had to pay for since getting this car.
Story
I have to say living up north I experience some dreadful weather, but this car has got me threw it all. It tell you every time you lose traction, and it moves through the snow pretty good for a smaller car.
Pros
One of my favorite aspects of this car is how loud the speakers are! The speakers that come with the car are absolutely incredible. Ford Fusions definitely bump. Another pro to this car is you can adjust it to tell you how many miles you have until your gas tank is empty. When you get to 50 miles to empty, it dings to let you know . This same screen will also let you know when you need and oil change and if tire pressure is low. It may even notify you of other things, but these are the only things I have seen. Cons
There are only a couple things that I wish were different about the Ford Fusion SE. For one, the windshield wipers do not go fast enough for heavy rainfall. It will do the job for regular rain, but if you get caught on the highway with any type of substantial rain, it is very difficult see. The other problem I had was that the headlight is a little difficult to get to. Maybe there is a different way you were supposed to change it, but I had to squeeze my hand in there, and I have pretty small hands.
