Compact and Economical
This vehicle is the ultimate seasonal buy. It is ideal for summer and fall weather conditions. Its extremely economical, comfortable, and is has a style that defies age. When considering this vehicle as a primary means of transport, a person must weigh in practicality. The very low body makes it difficult to travel in extreme weather conditions (especially if you live in a city with bridges, trains, and pockets of UN-level ground - where rain water or any water accumulates). When driving this vehicle - understand its limitations and always have a couple extra dollars to replace a fuel pump (or any other mechanical part that dysfunctions when wet or exposed).

Sensible Sedan.
Purchased this 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier new from the dealership. This was the first brand new car I have purchased and chose the model from others who had owned the same model and had great things to say. This car is a smaller sedan though roomy enough for a small family and certainly for an adult or two. Great mileage means it is terrific for road trips. The roomy trunk fits an ample amount of luggage and can even transport a ten foot Christmas tree (since the back seat folds forward). I've had little mechanical complaints with this car. Other than usual maintenance and replacement of tires and battery there have been few mechanical issues with this car. The only drawback is that Cavaliers typically have failure in the window motors. After replacing the motor on the drivers side three times and consistent failure I finally gave up and decided that a reliable car is worth not having a window moving up and down. I simply dismantled the window keys in the center panel and ignore it. Even though this is a 4-cylinder car the motor is zippy and has plenty of get up and go. The car can easily accelerate to freeway speeds and still has great gas mileage on long trips, especially highway miles. This car has been reliable, stayed in great shape, and has given me over 185,000 safe miles. I hope to drive the car for a few more years and receive more than my money's worth in this car. It's too bad Chevrolet quit making this exact model. I would purchase this car again.

Not flashy, but reliable
I bought my 2004 Chevy Cavalier used, so I was not the original owner (and I'm not sure how many previous owners it had), but I've been very happy with how it has performed and what it has been able to do for me. I initially didn't set out to buy this particular car, in fact I didn't have a "dream car" - I just wanted something in my budget. I have no brand loyalty when it comes to cars, so I could have easily gotten a vehicle from another manufacturer had one been available to me, but I'm actually really glad I ended up with this one. For starters, it is pretty basic in the features it has, but I kind of like that about it. The door locks and windows are manual, which is just fine with me, because that means they are easier to repair if anything goes wrong with them (which nothing has). The interior is cloth, but is sufficiently comfortable. The gas mileage is decent, especially on the highway, and the car has made several long trips without incident. Acceleration and handling are good - I've never felt like I was pushing it to do more than it could. It maintains power during hill-climbing. All in all, it does everything I need it to do.
