I've owned my 2004 Z06 Corvette for a few years now, and it has been one of the best cars that I've ever owned. On the initial buy, it was a great sports/performance car for the money and it is still holding its value pretty well. I used the car as a daily driver for about the first year that I owned it, and have driven it several times a week ever since then. I've put about 30,000 miles on the car myself and it has about 90,000 miles on it in total. The only maintenance that I have had to do are oil changes, a tune-up around 80,000 miles, and I put 2 new tires on the car. It runs well in the cold or hot weather, and the heat and air conditioning climate control works very well. The car is very quick. I run it fairly hard, and it never seems to have had any negative affect on the car. ... (more)
Story
The first month that I had the car I went to Skyline drive with several other sports car owners and had an all day event. That was a good start to my ownership of the car.
Pros
Holds value Fast Good sound system Low maintenance Very few problems
Cons
The window seals don't seal air well at high speed Interior is slightly cramped for long trips

The C5 generation Corvette Z06 is by far the greatest performance value available in the 20-30 thousand dollar range. 405 horsepower, lightweight, almost 30mpg, cheap insurance, weirdly easy on tires, I could go on and on. It would take something around $75k on the new car market to compete, and even then it would not check all of the above boxes.
Story
I bought this car specifically for the straight, flat roads of Texas as the high performance cars that I previously owned were all set up for handling, and there aren't many twisty bits here. This vehicle more than satisfies that straight line performance itch (but also handles well)
Pros
Unbelievable performance, great gas mileage, 30k miles in between tire changes (and I drive very aggressively), great handling, great looks, great sound. Everything you could want in a performance car is there.
Cons
The only cons I can think of are the ones that have been beaten to death on this model, and I don't even think it's that significant; the interior plastics. Honestly, I've owned some nice cars in the segment, such as an M3, and I don't think the interior of the Z06 is that much worse than what I had in my M3. It's everything a "driver's car" needs. The seats could also use a little bit more lumbar support for sure, but you can get a set of aftermarket ones in there for about $700 for a pair. Another con might be the way some view this car as an old man's car, but as someone that has yet... (more)
