Great handling and mileage but poor build quality.
My girlfriend and I originally picked this car up as a daily driver. We love how economical the car is in terms of gas mileage. The car gets a good 25-30mpg in town and 20-25mpg on the highway. The car has great handling and has a very zippy feel due to it's higher acceleration factor. It's also a joy to drive in town because of how easy it is to find parking, it's a small enough vehicle to fit into some spaces only a motorcycle would be able to park otherwise. The car zips right up steep inclines no problem without hesitation. Because of that we took this car to a lot of mountainous areas without any problem to go on hikes and nature walks. Definitely a great hiker's vehicle! The interior is fairly basic, but the comfort of the front seats were particularly soft and nicely contoured. As a bigger guy I was surprised at just how comfortable the front seats were compared to other, bigger cars I've owned. All of the positives being said, this car does have it's share of issues. When we got the car we discovered that the electrical system wasn't working correctly. The radio didn't work and her blinkers were non-functional as well. We got the blinkers fixed but we we're never able to figure out why the radio wasn't working. The cargo space in the car is terrible. There is only one small compartment in the back that is opened up into by the hatch. It's barely big enough to carry a few bag of groceries. The car is quite small. This isn't an issue for my girlfriend, but me being a bigger guy it was an issue. When we got into a accident my knees hit the dashboard pretty hard. The build quality of the car is abysmal. The first month we owned it I accidentally put a small dent in the hood with the palm of my hand. Months later we just slightly tapped the back of a truck in a small crash and the whole front grill and bumper of the car had to be replaced. Those factors considered we are now in the market for another, safer car. The Aveo has served us well as a transitional car, but I would not recommend it to anyone based on the flaws I listed above.

I liked it because it was economical on parts, and it had really good driving overall. I liked the cruise control feature, and the stereo had really good sound. I liked that it was all electric. I liked the sunroof. I liked the temperature control. I liked the tinted windows. It had a chrome grill. I liked the tire rims. Leather seats. Performance. Engine. Gas mileage. Remote start. It was my first car, so I have certain sentimental value towards it. I tried to keep it, but I had to sell it to afford a new car.
