My girlfriend and I originally picked this car up as a daily driver. We love how economical the car is in terms of gas mileage. The car gets a good 25-30mpg in town and 20-25mpg on the highway. The car has great handling and has a very zippy feel due to it's higher acceleration factor. It's also a joy to drive in town because of how easy it is to find parking, it's a small enough vehicle to fit into some spaces only a motorcycle would be able to park otherwise. The car zips right up steep inclines no problem without hesitation. Because of that we took this car to a lot of mountainous areas without any problem to go on hikes and nature walks. My girlfriend and I had a blast taking the Aveo down to Oregon to see the solar eclipse this year. We went down to the Santiam National Forest and took the car up and down the dirt roads in the mountains and found the perfect spot to watch the eclipse. The 2010 Chevrolet Aveo is a decent starting car for a teenager or young adult looking for their first car. It was relatively cheap given the mileage. I got the vehicle for about 10k with a warranty attached.
Story
It is economical. I can drive nearly anywhere and barely have to pay for gas. I drove three hours to a bigger city, and it hardly dented my tank.
Pros
It is the perfect car for someone who is on the shorter side. I am 5'1 and have no trouble seeing over the dashboard. Since the car is small in length, it is easy to maneuver into tight spots. At 71k mileage, it has had no major issues.
Cons
The Chevrolet Aveo has mediocre crash ratings, though I have never experienced a crash. As a small vehicle, it is not ideal for people who are tall or largely built. There were some minor annoyances while driving it. The tire pressure monitor is incredibly finicky. If the tire loses air temporarily due to the weather, it will go off. The paint job could be better. Despite only being seven years old, quite a bit of the paint is starting to flake off. The sound of the car is a bit off putting because it has a small engine and not a lot of power.
