This was my best car so far. I love the way it runs and drives. It has a lot of bang for the buck. It gets fairly good gas mileage. It handles really well. I can go on and on. They just don't make cars like this anymore. I love its smooth lines and design. Its really comfortable. There is plenty of room for passengers. The trunk space is bigger than it looks. You can squeeze a lot into that trunk. I drive it in all kinds of weather and don't have any problems with the way it handles. It is a great car it has needed very few repairs. If you maintain it properly it will last for years. It has great acceleration and the brakes are very good. This is a good solid car you can feel safe in. I love the fact that this is such a low maintenance car. Even after all these years and 240,000 plus m... (more)

The car has an amazing shape and really catches the eye as it is driving down the street. One of the things that I liked most about the car was the distinctive body shape; even at night just looking at the head/tail lights and the silhouette you can tell it's a Monte. The overall performance has lasted a long time, and it is still functioning at over 200,000+ miles. I have had some problems with it (listed in the cons section), but you are going to have issues with any automobile. I like the sitting position in the car, because I am over six feet tall with bad knees, so a large amount of leg room is a requirement. I have taken trips upwards of 8 hours in the car, and there are no abnormal cramping pains. The trunk space is very large and can fit a plethora of materials. I have also bee... (more)
Story
This car has traveled all over the Midwest and has been the vessel for a lot of my road trips. It was the first car I purchased after high school and also the first one that I own the title to.
Pros
The car is fast and easy to maneuver. I have had the car for almost ten years now and have put on just over 100,000 miles. This car has been in all different types of road and driving conditions. I feel safe in the car because it is heavy enough that I am not blowing around the road when it is windy; yet not so weighty that I feel like I'm driving a boat. The V6 engine makes it's power very easily known, especially on the highway. When the hood is open, everything that requires regular maintenance is easy to reach (save for the air filter). The car has a great sporty look to it, that makes... (more)
Cons
My biggest issue is the security malfunctions. After doing some research, I have seen that this is a common issue with the particular make and model. The car has a feature that if it does not recognize the key, it will shut the car down for ten minutes exactly. While I first suspected it was a chip in the key that was misfiring, but even with replacements from the dealer, the problem still happens. we have even replaced the ignition cylinder a few times with no avail. The feature will blink "security" in the message center until you can try turning it over again once it stops blinking. Thi... (more)
