The vehicle I drive is great for everyday use. I have three small children and I love that I can fit three large car seats in and still have room for other items, people or dogs if needed. The third row is what we needed and it passes that test. As my children grow I am afraid they won't have enough leg room in that 3rd row, though. The very back trunk space is spacious enough to fit our double stroller but not too large. The vehicle is still pretty short which I like for parking. When the air is turned on high one of the vents does rattle and I have just recently noticed an issue defrosting my front windshield. These are minor problems. We have driven this vehicle across country but mostly I drive short distances and the vehicle has held up well.
Story
Two weeks after buying my vehicle we drove it halfway across the country with all three kids pulling a trailer which had the 2 dogs in it and all our luggage. We drove from North Carolina to Iowa. We have the kids' DVD player hooked up and it drove us comfortably there. We were glad we had found a reliable, comfortable vehicle for our family.
Pros
I love the third row and the ease of access to get back there. The second row seat easily pops down out of the way so my kids can climb back. I like that the vehicle isn't huge; it is the perfect size to drive for me and park. I love the backup camera and signal if I am about to hit something. The touch screen is a nice feature and the mood lighting can be customized so I have it set to pink, which I think is nice. I thought I would love the keyless automatic start, but I don't ever really use it.
Cons
I don't have a lot of negatives. I wish navigation came with it. I have a nice touch screen display with no nav so I am constantly fiddling with my phone for directions. I wish there was a little bit more leg room in the third row, but honestly by the time my kids need the space they won't be in car seats which will give them more room.

2014 Ford Explorer - Solid vehicle.

My wife and I purchased our Ford Explorer new from the local dealership after test driving multiple vehicles from different makers. We were impressed with how quiet the Explorer is going down the road. I have found that it has more than enough room for long car trips that my family frequently takes. We can easily fit four large suitcases in the trunk if the third row has been folded down. We chose the limited trim for the heated and cooled seats. The cooled seats make long trips easier, and you do not get as hot sitting in the seat for a long period of time. The Sync system is good for navigation and normal use. The large screen is easy to manipulate while driving with minimal distraction. For a four-wheel drive SUV, we get around 23 MPG which for a four-wheel drive, I am completely ha... (more)
Story
We love to go watch fireworks at a local park each year. Everybody parks in the grass, and a few years ago, it had just rained and everything was soaked. There was still a little rain falling. We decided rather than sit in the seats, we wanted to enjoy the fireworks, so we opened the rear hatch and sat in the back and watched the fireworks from there.
Pros
Comfort. The Explorer is one of the most comfortable vehicles I have ever driven. Layout. The layout of the interior is intuitive, and everything is easy to find and use while traveling down the road. Third row. The third row seating is great when there is that one or two extra persons that you need to transport.
Cons
The only con about this Explorer is that there is no digital function for speed. With all the LCD displays for everything going on, it does not have a speedometer that is digital.
