Overall, this isn't a bad vehicle but it also isn't great. I like the way it drives and it is comfortable. However, we live down a dirt road and it rattles a lot when driving up to our house. I have had issues with the SIM card not working randomly and then randomly deciding to work again. Shortly after we got it I had to bring it in and have it looked at because it was having mechanical issues; they replaced a part and said sometimes the part just sticks on new vehicles. Now it has an issue with the lock on the drivers side back door... it sticks. It takes several tries of unlocking and locking and unlocking to be able to get the door open which is a hassle because I have three kids. I am really unhappy that they haven't figured out a better way to access the 3rd row. We had the same ... (more)
Story
I haven't' really had any. We have had this one for a little less than a year and I just really have only used it for going back and forth between dropping the kids at school and functions and grocery shopping.
Pros
Dashboard display Heater/AC control Comfortable to drive Adequate trunk space Hatchback 'button' opening mechanism Remote start
Cons
Rattles on our dirt road Lots of kinks to work out (SIM card, part replaced, sticking lock) Difficult to access 3rd row

This is my second Ford Explorer. I originally had the 2013, and it was great. There were a few issues with it, as it was the new body style. The Bluetooth was not perfect with Apple products, and it would not connect when you had navigation active. Those issues have been fixed with the 2016 model. I cannot speak highly enough of this vehicle! It fits our needs and exceeds them. We have three children and also three large dogs. We have travelled in it with the third row down and had the dogs in the back. There's always plenty of room. It has so many amenities. You won't miss a thing. Heated and cooled seats, moon roof, great sound system, blind spot monitoring, rear-view camera, and the thing that you click to open the trunk when you have groceries. Oh. Did I mention remote ... Story
We drove to Arkansas with our three dogs, and they had a blast! After Christmas, we decided to take our kids and dogs to a cabin in Arkansas. The dogs went in the cargo area with the third-row seat down, and there was plenty of space. We did purchase a bar system that blocks the dogs, otherwise, the dogs would have spent the trip in the second-row seat with the kids! Everyone had plenty of... (more)
