My Ford Expedition that I had was a fantastic car that was reliable and was a great truck in all weather. I live in an area where we get a lot of snow during the winters and this truck fit the bill for a car that could power through it. I have never had a problem with the car in the snow and can honestly say that I have never had an accident with the car because of slipping on snow. The car is spacious and let me fit all of the kids into the car to drive them to their sporting events, and was great on road trips because we could fit all of our stuff in the trunk.
Pros
The traction was incredible and I have never had a problem in the rain or snow. I also enjoyed all of the space that the car has to offer which really helped on our family vacations.
Cons
I really didn't like the low gas mileage of the car and it probably cost me a lot more money than I wanted to pay, but overall it was worth it. Also later on in its life span the car started having problems and at one point I had to get the windows fixed as well as one of the problems with the brakes that it was having.

I needed a car that would hold a 5 person family and the occasional passenger. The interior is roomy with drop down seats for cargo if needed. The engine is really loud and the steering wheel has a loose feel to it. I have not had any mechanical problems with it in the 4 years I have owned it.
Story
We had a rough trip back Christmas. A trip that should have been 9 hours was more than 12 but we made it safe and sound.
Pros
The best thing about this vehicle is the amount of seating. One of my favorite features is the 4 wheel drive. We have been glad to have that available on many an icy trip. The extra heat/air conditioner unit in the rear is nice as the rear passengers usually don't get as much air and heat as the front two seats.
Cons
The most negative thing about this vehicle is the loud engine. I'm not mechanically inclined and do not know why it is so loud but I definitely know when it is started outside the house. We have lost one of the keys and it would be $70 to replace. This is really outrageous and should be addressed by the auto industry, especially in a car catering to families.
