We purchased the Expedition used from CarMax; it was two model years old and had just over 50K miles on it. We were looking for a larger car that could comfortably fit my family of five, plus any friends or family members that wanted to tag along. This seemed to fit the bill, plus it had the towing package for any future toy purchases. In the 3+ years we've owned it we have put nearly 40K additional miles on it and the only service it requires is gas, brakes, tires, and oil! It is the most reliable, comfortable, and versatile vehicle I have ever owned.
Story
We took a spring break road trip up the west coast to the mountains from our home near the beach in Southern CA. From air conditioning at home, to full blast heater and 4-wheel drive in the snow up the in mountains, we never had to worry about the Expedition. It allowed us a great family vacation that I will cherish for many years to come!
Pros
The best feature is the versatility of the seating arrangements! Having three kids trapped in the car on road trips can be difficult at times. However, the seating arrangement allows me to create physical distance between the kids so those "difficulties" become less frequent and severe. :) The ride of the Expedition is very smooth and it doesn't have the feeling of being in a large truck. But when you need the power for towing or passing, it is still there!
Cons
When the third row seat is being completely used there is virtually no trunk space. You are left with about enough room to fit a backpack or small cooler.

My SUV is great smooth cars ride on long distance drives. High enough off the ground almost feels like a trucks, but rides like a compact car. The factory tinted windows are my favorite part. I needed a SUV to fit my big family. The 3rd row seating is the best.
Story
This SUV pulls our OHV and drives perfect on dirt roads. All the off roasters know you need a 4x4. Gets me around anywhere rain or shine.
Pros
Tinted windows, power locks and Windows, big comfy leather seats. The drive is so smooth. we drove over 15,000 with no major issues. Easy to clean we have a white SUV and it cleans up nice. It's a 4x4 SUV. We drive through mud, dirt, rain, snow any weather. Takes E85 gas.
Cons
The only con is the trunk space. If your a family with a stroller it won't fit. If you have people in all 3 rows you have no where for groceries. The parts can be costly for the 4x4 option. Be aware of the needed tires meant for 4x4s.
