I love my Ford Expedition. It is a really nice looking vehicle and drives like a truck. We needed a vehicle that would fit our four kids and still leave room for luggage for road trips. We also wanted a vehicle with towing capacity for camping trips with a trailer when kids are older. The rack on top holds the surfboards nicely. The seats are wide a comfortable making road trips enjoyable. We've put 50,000 miles on our Expedition and it still drives like it did when we first bought it.
Story
We've taken many fun road trips to the beach in our Expedition, we will be taking many more!
Pros
We love how much room each passenger has and we still have room for luggage with all four kids in the car. The sound system is very high quality and I love the each of using SYNC with my smart phone.
Cons
The gas mileage is about 13 MPG, that's pretty terrible especially when most driving is done in stop and go traffic. Other than that there aren't too many cons about this vehicle.

This is our second Ford Expedition and was purchased to take the place of our first one. This SUV is an excellent choice for families with small children. The flip and fold seats allow for easy access to the third row seating, which can accommodate three car seats across the third row-something a minivan doesn't usually allow. The middle row can also accommodate three seats across. The leather interior and the dark colored carpets are also ideal for families because they are easy to clean when life's spills happen. This SUV handles beautifully. The steering is more responsive than some mini vans I have driven. The large windows and the mirror within the rearview mirrors give you a good vantage point all around the vehicle and help to minimize blind spots. The ride in this SUV is smoo... (more)
Story
We love taking this vehicle to the local drive-in movie theater. We park with the back facing the screen, put down the third row seats, grab our blankets, pillows, and popcorn and enjoy the show while all of the kids are safely contained in the back cargo area.
Pros
Seats 8 and can accommodate 6 car seats/booster seats when needed. Handles well on rain, snow, and ice. Easy to clean interior (leather) thanks to flip and fold seats and a rear 60/40 folding seat. Durable interior that isn't easily damaged by lots of small kids.
Cons
One design flaw to note is that on both this Expedition and our 2008 Expedition, rain water seems to get trapped around the handle for the rear lift gate, thus leading both of them to have minor rust issues surrounding the handle after less than 5 years of ownership. Also LATCH for car seat installation is only available in the middle row. The third row does have one tether only location to be used with a seatbelt install. Third row legroom is great for kids but a little tight for adults. Cargo space is limited-a double stroller will fit, but doesn't allow for much else.
