We acquired the vehicle when it already had 120,000 miles on it. It was well taken care of by the first owner. It is roomy, and that was a big feature that we needed having four children. I had an expedition el xlt that was wrecked and we replaced it with this one. I miss the extra room that the xlt gave us while still being able to have all of the seats in their upright positions. I would definitely buy this type of vehicle again.
Story
My husband has used our car to haul hay and deer when we did not have a pick up available.
Pros
It has a built-in DVD player that my children can work themselves. The seats are very easy to lay down and sit back up depending on how much storage room or how many seats we need to use for the trip. I like that the extra tire is a full-size spare and is stored beneath the car. The 4WD on it was another feature that we definitely needed because our roads are horrible when it gets wet. The interior is durable enough that when my husband's truck went down, we are able to haul bales of hay in the back and then blow it out.
Cons
As the car gets older and goes up and down the rough dirt roads, the doors are starting to rattle more and more. I wish the DVD player had some way to play it through headphones or split it to the back speakers so that we could still listen to music in the front and not have to listen to the movie. The spare tire being under the car is nice, but at times it is hard to get the spare unhooked from the cable used to hold it underneath the car. I miss the extra room that the XLT gives you versus what we have now. The gas mileage sucks, but that is to be expected with an SUV.

I love my truck. It is very roomy. Good for family. It always had extra seats. It's a great truck to take on a vacation. She went to FL three times and back. That's over 1,000 miles each way. She has done well. I would never trader her. When she does kick the bucket, I want another Expedition. I have 240,000 miles on her. She had a tick when I bought her four years ago, but she still runs. I laugh when people tell me I need an oil change or my motor is about to blow up from the ticking. I tell them, "I've had it since I bought it and she has never let me down." I don't know if I'm just lucky to get a good car or if Ford makes great cars.
Story
I ran out of gas. My mom and I had a good laugh until we got gas in her. I thought I had enough to make it to the gas station, but I was wrong. She went up the hill and I could feel it giving out. I just had to push her a little more to get her up the hill. Once I was up, we would have made it because it could coast. Well, we didn't make it. I over judged and she didn't have enough in her to... (more)
Pros
The truck is roomy and comfortable. I'm able to relax when driving. I feel very safe. I like the body style, the color blue, cruise control. It feels like a very luxurious car.
Cons
She is a gas hog. When gas is a normal amount of money, it is not that bad. But, when it was close to four dollars, $20 would give me less than a half tank of gas. It was a lot to fill, but I did get almost 400 miles on a tank of gas.
