When I initially purchased the SUV, it was an exciting moment. The SUV was beautiful and ran wonderfully. The Triton V8 had all the power one would need and then some. There was so much power that the two-and-a-half ton SUV felt like nothing whenever I would accelerate. At the time it had all the features one would need or expect. Nothing too fancy like the features you would get now but still up to par and current with the latest technology for that period. I loved the way the truck looked and felt. It was black with full leather seats, ridiculous amount of room, and very convenient for traveling with a large family. The only negative feature at that time was the third seat that didn't fold into the floor. Instead, it had to be removed, and the seat was not light. Altogether... (more)

One memorable moment I had with my vehicle was a trip we had taken to Big Bear. I remember we had packed ridiculous amount of stuff for a weekend getaway and felt like we were taking all of our belongings. I had taken 3 other people in the car and had to remove the back seat due to the amount of luggage and personals we were taking. Despite the overload of luggage, we had no problem making ... (more)
Pros
Some of the top features or favorite things I enjoyed about the vehicle were its spaciousness for one. The first time I sat in it, I felt like I was driving a bus. Transitioning from a small hatchback to such a large vehicle definitely required some getting used to. Once you sit in it and look back, it felt like the back window was far away. I used the truck frequently for loading large items during my home renovation projects. I would load plywood, 2x4s, and other large and heavy materials and there would be plenty of room. I loved power in the engine. The 5.7 liter Triton motor wa... (more)
Cons
Where to begin. One of the main issues I had was the fuel consumption. As the cost of fuel increased, it became increasingly painful to go to the pumps. When it comes to fuel, at 13 to 18 miles per gallon, it really is not the most ideal vehicle for long-range trips. I remember the constant trips to the gas stations and the length of time it took to fill it up. I remember watching the fuel pump gauge and seeing the astronomical amount of money it was costing me to fill. Another issue I have is with Ford's warranty. They do not stand behind their vehicles at all. I think they build ... (more)

I have had almost constant issues with this vehicle. It's in the shop at least once every three months. I've kept up with the maintenance, and it still always has something wrong with it. It drinks so much gas that it's almost cost prohibitive just to drive it anywhere. It drives extremely slow and has very little power behind it. It has issues towing a small trailer with a four wheeler on it. It's supposed to be four-wheel drive. The very back seats are extremely small and my elementary aged boys have a hard time getting back there. My teenager can't get back there at all. I have used high dollar leather cleaner and conditioner on the upholstery since we bought it and the seats still have rips and cracks in them. The handles on the back doors have stopped working to open the doors fiv... (more)
Story
The last fun memory of us in this vehicle is when we all went for a road trip to OK. I had all four of my kids and my husband, and it was a really nice long drive. We stopped a lot to see various attractions and really bonded.
Pros
It runs and drives, for the most part. It looks nice.
Cons
Everything. Seriously, esthetically this is a nice SUV. But everything else is junk. It drinks gas like there's no tomorrow. It's not comfortable to sit in, especially the third row. It needs constant repairs.
