1987 Chevrolet Corvette - The El Camino of sports cars.
With its diesel-like torque, feel the power as you toast most anyone off the line! Just expect to be caught on the top end-- airflow is innately restricted at high RPM and it runs out of breath. As an around-town car you'll feel the rumbling power of a performance vehicle, and with decent economy at around 25mpg-- you'll almost forget you have a V8! TPI corvettes have long since polarized the automotive community, being criticized by some and lauded by others. With the inclusion of emissions systems they were among the least powered corvettes, around 240 HP off the line. However, with their instantaneous torque and moderate upgradability, they can be severely underestimated by those who aren't in the know!
Story
On one night on my way back home, someone pulled next to me and revved their engine as if they wanted to race. I obliged and won! I made a lifelong friend with a guy initially because they liked my car!
Pros
Feel cool in an approachable way! The ladies like the classics-- but so do the dudes! This car will earn you friends and envy your enemies!
Cons
Some have considered it to be hard to get in and out of. It does take a "procedure" of sorts to exit as it's so low to the ground and the seat is tucked behind the door, but once you get the hang of it, it is not difficult.
