I have had this truck now for over ten years, and it has only failed me a couple times when the alternator broke and Cleveland winter ravaged the body. It has done everything from moving to and from college to driving across the country. I would definitely recommend this truck to anyone looking for a pickup. That being said, for people who really need to move big things, a larger truck is probably better.
Story
I've used this vehicle time and again to move between home and school as well as across the country. It has never let me down. It always sounds and feels like it might break, but it just keeps going.
Pros
The S10 is small and lightweight which means it gets relatively good gas mileage for a pickup truck. The bed is big enough that it can haul pretty much anything with relative ease. I have moved myself and many other people using it, and we've never had any problems except for a couple mattresses that couldn't fit. Also, it can only fit 2 people comfortable which could be a pro in the sense that you are never asked to drive big groups of people anywhere.
Cons
Most of the pros are also cons. The lightweight factor means that in winter, you need to be careful about sliding and hydroplaning as the front end of the vehicle is a lot heavier than the back. Sandbags fix this problem somewhat. While the gas mileage is okay for trucks, it's still low compared to cars. If you do want to transport many people, you can't. My truck only has a 4-cylinder engine which makes it kind of slow.

I love my Chevy S10. By far one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. The truck is sixteen years old and has 240,000 miles on it, and still climbing. Better yet Very maintenance free. I live in Missouri and it gets pretty cold out in the winter. The little truck never fails to start for me. Not very good for the snow though. But that is an easy fix. All you have to do is take some sandbags and load the bed down with two hundred to three hundred pounds of sand. After that just take it slow and you'll be just fine. Now the bad. This truck is not very roomy so if you have children this is not the vehicle for you. Another problem is the handles tend to break off to recline the seats. Once again that's an easy fix. Just take a Vice grip and clamp it on there. Overall if your looking for a... (more)
Story
Taking my truck camping for the first time with my girlfriend. It rained really bad and we wound up having to sleep in the bed of the truck for the weekend.
Pros
One of my favorite things about this truck is that it gets really good gas mileage if you drive it right. Its big enough to haul anything the average person needs to haul and extremely easy to work on.
Cons
Chevy could have used better quality materials on the interior. The wheel-bearings are not the easiest to change on this truck.
