I really like my current truck. I like the face that it is small and mobile. The build quality is nice and stable. It gets me where I need to go just fine. I have had to replace the alternator twice, but that does not take away from the overall quality of the truck. The gas gauge has never worked, but the truck I had prior to this one did not work either, so it's not a big deal. The color is great for me also because I'm lazy and don't enjoy washing it. The color of my truck is brown so the dirt does not show up that much. I think I have only washed it a couple times in all the years I've owned it. The seats could have more adjust ability in them for the longer drives. The gas mileage that it gets is great because it's a four cylinder engine. I can also run the truck on regular gas. Th... Pros
I like the small engine size (4 cylinder). The motor is very quiet while running unless you are accelerating rapidly. Manual locks and windows are less to go bad. I've had to replace electric window motors before it was not fun. Road noise is not very high while driving at faster speeds. The factory tinted windows keep the truck cool on hot days. An automatic transmission is great because I can multitask while driving. I get around 25 miles per gallon while driving around the city. I don't have great highway stats because I don't drive highways much. You can also turn off the side passenge... (more)
Cons
The truck does lack some passing power having a four cylinder motor, mostly just one two lane roads. With the truck having more volume due to the extended cab, it takes longer to heat and cool the space. There is not full size seats in the third row and can be somewhat uncomfortable for full size adults. With the truck being longer having a extended cab, the turning radius is somewhat wide having a longer wheelbase. If the truck did not have a center console you might be able to get three people in the front section. Sometimes while driving up hills you have to accelerate more to keep a co... (more)

I bought a Chevy S-10 from Red Ferris in 2006 for about $9,000. It had 69,000 miles on it and needed a new tire. Someone drove over the curb test driving it, I saw that he was a very tall and large semi- truck driver. I took it for a drive anyway and noticed that it smelled like oil leaking, so I bought it and then they brought it in for repairs by warranty. It lasted me long enough to move back to my hometown to do some landscaping and small motor salvage around the house and from the garage. I don't own it anymore but I've seen another family driving it around looking for me.
Story
Someone took off in it at the dealership and I couldn't get it back after the city's towing company tried to load it up in the parking lot onto a rollback truck with me in it!
Pros
I liked the interior and sunroof that was comfortable because you could open it if it was too hot or cold and adjust the heating and air conditioning or how far open to set the sunroof by clicking it's handle. It came with a tonneau cover over the bed that was really helpful for fuel economy. The paint was black and the rims were an attractively designed aluminum alloy wheel to match. The cruise controls were easy to use, a round button at the end of the signal and dimmer arm for deactivate and a small trigger button controlled cruise and accelerate.
Cons
It was a small truck that didn't handle that well on hills or curves with a load. There wasn't much room inside the cab for me to adjust the seat. I said that I always wanted an S-10, but I don't live in a wealthy town so I felt like everybody ran me down about it because they thought they deserved it better than me after I finally got one. I paid for it all at once through a trust account with an attorney following an automobile accident. I lost the truck after I was assigned a job through the local Jobs and Family Services job fair and tried to have it repaired after the warranty expired.
