A Great Little Pickup Truck
This little pickup truck as just what I needed and wanted. I owned the Base model and it had no electric windows, door locks, power seats, nothing. It even came with a basic AM/FM radio. The quality of this vehicle was pretty good compared to similar models, and even better than some of today's models. The cloth covered bench seat was comfortable, and the controls were all easy to reach and operate. This particular year model came with a full gauge package and air conditioning as standard, but was only optional before. The fuel mileage was not very impressive. At the best I was able to get 24 MPG on average, which seemed a little bit low yet was right in line with the estimated MPG reported by the manufacturer. The ride comfort was a bit stiff, but handling was great. It was rated at 1,700 pounds carrying capacity, but many times I loaded much more than that and this little truck carried it with ease. I never had any major repairs to make with this truck, and I sold it after 175,000 miles. It did not use oil, and even though the seat and the floor mat was worn, it was still running strong at the end.

The Chevy S-10 that I own has a third door. Whenever I'm going to transport anything, I have an option of using the short flat bed in the back of the truck or opening the third door that leads to the outside. Also, the truck has a small third seat in the inside for a small person or a child.
