The Chevy S-10 that I own has a third door. Whenever I'm going to transport anything, I have an option of using the short flat bed in the back of the truck or opening the third door that leads to the outside. Also, the truck has a small third seat in the inside for a small person or a child.
Story
I took this truck to three different states in 2017, and I loved every minute of driving it.
Pros
The engine of these trucks (to me) is a winner. It is hard for me to break down. Even when one component of the truck is not working, the Chevy S-10 will rely on other working parts of the truck to keep driving. No matter the weight of the load, the S-10 pulls hills without hesitation. I do remember accessing an incline of at least 15% and the little truck pulled right up, the same as with a much larger or big truck and took the quick winding curve that followed, with an ease. The only con for this truck is that as it is getting older, some of the parts may be hard to find. This truck does... (more)
Cons
The only con for this truck is that as it is getting older, some of the parts may be hard to find. This truck does have a tendency to have the battery cable shift if it is not on tight enough because of the place it is in the truck...but you must check to see that you have a wrench in order to tighten the battery to the shelf.

This little pickup truck as just what I needed and wanted. I owned the Base model and it had no electric windows, door locks, power seats, nothing. It even came with a basic AM/FM radio. The quality of this vehicle was pretty good compared to similar models, and even better than some of today's models. The cloth covered bench seat was comfortable, and the controls were all easy to reach and operate. This particular year model came with a full gauge package and air conditioning as standard, but was only optional before. The fuel mileage was not very impressive. At the best I was able to get 24 MPG on average, which seemed a little bit low yet was right in line with the estimated MPG reported by the manufacturer. The ride comfort was a bit stiff, but handling was great. It was rated a... (more)
Story
During an ice storm, I loaded some heavy rocks into the bed of my truck, and went around helping others that were stuck. Even though I had only 2 wheel drive, I felt like I was in a tank and could go anywhere.
Pros
I loved that there was nothing electric on this truck. No window motors to wear out, no lock switches to quit working, nothing electronic that was cost prohibitive to replace. It was a simple truck, and did its job very well.
Cons
Leg room was lacking, and the ride would become uncomfortable on long trips.
