My 2013 Volt is the perfect car for my lifestyle. I have a 35 mile one-way trip to work, and I am able to make it completely on electricity and then charge at work and get home completely on electricity, as well. I go to the gas station once every six weeks. In addition, because the gas engine is only used occasionally, I only have to get oil changes about once per year. The ride is extremely smooth and quiet, and the acceleration from zero is instant. It has a finish like a quality car because of its initial price point of almost $40k. However, the used market on these cars is great b/c I picked mine up for only $15k with only 45k miles. Two minor drawbacks are the lack of a sunroof in any model and the cramped cabin. Story
Because of some downhill terrain and use of the regenerative braking, I was able to go from my home to a city 51 miles away without using electricity, even though the battery is only rated for 35-mile range.
Pros
The efficiency of the vehicle is by far the top positive aspect of the vehicle. With all of the screens that allow you to know how you are driving, it helps drive efficiently and save on gas. Within one year, two of my coworkers had also bought Volts for the same reason. The best features are the "L" mode which allows for stronger regenerative braking and "sport" mode for even enhanced acceleration.
Cons
Besides the negatives I mentioned earlier, the other main drawback is the visibility out of the back. It is limited, so it makes it riskier to change lanes.

This vehicle is a blast to drive. It's also technologically advanced with up to date features like rear camera, front collision warning, park assist, heated seats, etc. It gets phenomenal mileage overall, considering the first 40+ miles are all electric. It's also surprisingly powerful and fast.
Story
I almost turned it into a boat driving through a flooded road near home. The water got so deep that I could hear it hitting the doors, but the car made it through.
Pros
What I like most about this vehicle is the quietness while accelerating. Some of my favorite features are the rear camera, front collision warning, prestart capabilities, heated seats, OnStar, XM radio, and the Bose stereo. Having OnStar is nice because it can tell you a lot about the vehicle's condition through your phone. Also, when taking it to the dealer, they tend to take good care of me with this vehicle for some reason. Another positive aspect is that it qualifies for up to $7500 back from the government.
Cons
What I don't like about this vehicle is the road noise, no rear air conditioner, the large blind spots, and not enough rear seat room. If you roll the windows down while moving, you will get a lot of wind noise, so much that it hurts your ears. The vehicle also doesn't seem to hold it's value very well.
