The Chevrolet Avalanche is an amazing. I decided to get it because I have always driven a truck, I feel more comfortable in something with some size and 4 wheel drive. It is the only vehicle that I have ever owned that had what I was looking for. It handles very well, it gets moderate gas mileage, and has so much room. It's the first time that I have ever been able to put 2 large kids and a toddler car seat comfortably in the box seat and not get kicked by swinging feet while I am driving.
Story
We took our kids to the zoo the 2nd day I had it. It was the first time in a while that we were able to take all of our kids somewhere in one vehicle.
Pros
The space it has is amazing. The truck is also very comfortable. It gets better mileage than some of my previous vehicles which were 10 years newer and half the motor. My favorite thing about my Avalanche is that it has the Vortec 8.1 motor which is 496 cubic inches of engine! It is hard to come across something of equal or greater size most of the time. The truck also is made to allow the back seat and the entire back of the truck to detach to give you an even longer bed length if needed.
Cons
The mileage isn't the greatest, it averages at about 15 to 18 miles to the gallon on highways.

The 2002 Chevy Avalanche is a great truck. I have had it for a long time and have used it for multiple purposes, including moving furniture to towing a boat and have enjoyed every moment. A dependable and reliable truck without any problems over time.
Story
I went to South Padre Island for a trip, and we all sat in the bed of the truck and looked at the stars on the beach sand at night. Very cool times with family.
Pros
The top positive things about this vehicle would be the low gas mileage for a truck, the comfortable ride for a truck, and being able to tow or load up whatever I needed without worrying if the truck could or could not handle it. The truck also has the back panel lay down, so I would be able to load large pieces of wood like fencing in the back, and the length could max out at around seven feet without hanging out of the truck but safely being laid down in the bed of the truck.
Cons
The top negative things about this vehicle would be the headlights were not as bright as I would like them to be. Especially being in the country, lighting is a must. The factory lighting probably would suffice in the city but the country was a different story. Having to turn on the brights helped, but I would have liked to have had a brighter factory system. Otherwise a great truck.
