The 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche LTZ was ahead of the curve for its time. You can really feel how solid this vehicle is the first time you go for a ride. The heated leather seats will keep you warm and comfortable on early those morning commutes. The ride quality is unparalleled thanks to the air ride suspension. The Bose sound system is amazing, featuring Bluetooth compatibility, Sirius XM satellite radio, and an auxiliary input for your media devices. The 5.7 liter vortex engine provides plenty of power for towing , yet still has reasonable gas mileage. The only con to this vehicle I have found is the transmission failed around 100,000 miles. Luckily, this was replaced at no cost through an extended warranty. Overall, this vehicle is highly recommended. Its style and comfort still rival ... (more)
Story
One time my friend got his truck stuck in the mud; he had it buried up to the bottom of the doors. I had to drive out in the mud to get to him, turned on the four-wheel drive and hooked up a chain and drove us both right out of there.
Pros
Style. Comfort. Reliability. Power. Premium audio system. Decent fuel economy.
Cons
Transmission failed at 100,000 miles.

Vehicle was well equipped and the fit and trim were very nice. Since it was in production for a few years all the bugs seemed to be eliminated. the engine was more than adequate for the vehicle but gas mileage while city driving was not very good. The rear panels were a task to take off and stow.
Story
Loved the Four wheel drive with the skids plates for off road adventures. Very capable in most situations.
Pros
Engine was more than adequate for all purpose uses. While towing a boat, the tow feature came in handy. The interior features were of very fine quality and the finish was up to high standards. When four wheel drive was necessary it was easy to get the vehicle into 4 high or low if needed and back to auto track with ease.
Cons
The rear panels were a pain to remove and stow when the rear compartment was needed. When the full cargo bed was needed, lowering the second seat and removing the rear window was a laborious task that I do not look forward to.
