Before we purchased this vehicle we test drove others, such as pickups and cars. The ride is smooth and it is fun to drive. We used to travel a lot and with our family and dogs, they all fit with comfort. When we need the Avalanche to perform double duty as a truck, it is there to do just that. We can pretty much haul whatever we need to haul simply by opening up the back and pulling down the back seats and pushing the cargo through. I love the fact that they have included cover panels over the back, and the tail gate locks when you lock the truck. That way we can travel with our personal items and keep them safe. The Avalanche has power and is able to pull our boat when we go boating. The air-conditioning works very well. I love the bucket seats in the front. It is a very comf... (more)
Story
When we go to the mountains, we take blankets. Park it away from all lights and take off the back panels, and sit in the back to watch the meteor showers. You don't have to lay on the ground and it's not something you can view in a car very well. You feel that you are actually out in nature and can enjoy the beauty of nature without any obstacles.
Pros
For a pickup of sorts, the ride is not bouncy but very smooth. Everything on the dash that you need is within reach. The Avalanche is fun to drive and travel in. There are features on the steering wheel to assist you, such as cruise control, radio channels, and volume control. The seats adjust to you and are very comfortable to sit in. The heat and air-conditioning controls adjust for both sides of the vehicle. The control panels have been pretty much trouble free. It has been a reliable vehicle.
Cons
The top negative things about this vehicle were the tire air sensors go bad too fast. You have to replace them often. The brakes squeal, which is common for this vehicle. Other sensors do not seem to stand up to the test of time for those that wish to keep their vehicle more than three years. They just seem too poorly manufactured, as if it is another way to get your money. The silver on the inside front door handles started coming off and cutting our fingers to the point we had to put tape on them. The other thing is when backing up I don't have as much back up vision as I would like.

I have had my 2007 Avalanche for the past 3 years, and I love my truck. The interior feels like a luxury car with the body and soul of a truck. It has all the bells and whistles I could want (and then some!). It handles especially well with a solid feel like you're connected to the road. I spend a lot of time outdoors hunting, camping, fishing, mountain bike riding, snowboarding, hiking, and exploring the Black Hills of South Dakota. Having the Tonneau cover is a perfect additional feature for the activities that I like to do. All my gear can be stored in a weather-tight, locking area where I don't need to worry about it. And if I need more room, I can remove the interlocking three piece Tonneau cover and have a full truck bed. If I need anymore room, I can lay down the rear pa... (more)
Story
On a long road trip my husband and I just couldn't drive any longer and we weren't neat any town to get a hotel room, so we pulled over in the middle of no where so we folded down the back passenger seats and slept in the covered bed of the truck. It was surprisingly comfortable!
Pros
Luxury interior. Factory remote start. 3 piece solid interlocking Tonneau cover. Moon roof. Fold down rear passenger seats for additional truck bed space.
Cons
Fuel mileage isn't the greatest. 14 City/ 21 Hwy.
