The design of the Avalanche is like no other truck. The quality of the leather (interior) is excellent. The miles are over 200,000 and the condition of the motor and other parts still perform very well. There has not been any major car repairs, only standard wear and tear. The exterior (paint) and cladding has held together very well. The paint has not faded, and the cladding has been maintained with minimum care. The vehicles interior is full leather, powered memory seats and added on other amenities gives the feel of a luxury vehicle, which it is, but it easily keeps converts to the functionality of a truck when needed. The drives are always smooth, and it does not feel like you are driving a truck. The truck has more than exceeded all my expectations. This is my dream car, so I was ... (more)
Story
We still have outdoor drive-ins in my area. It was so nice to back the truck up and sit out on top of the bed and watch a movie like I did when I was a kid. The family enjoyed the experience. Having this style of truck made it perfect.
Pros
I own my business, so I haul a lot of products at one time. My car was just to small. So in looking for a truck, I wanted style and functionality, and this vehicle fit the description of what I was needing. The truck comes with panels allowing items to be stored in the back bed. This feature allows for quick access, and I don't have to load and unload the truck. I just secure the panels. There was no leakage, so everything stayed dry as well. My other favorite features are the memory heated seats and driver details. When I enter the vehicle, there is no readjusting the mirrors, seats or ... (more)
Cons
The most negative thing for this vehicle is the gas miles it drives per gallon. It was mostly about 12 to 13 mpg. I worked relatively far, so filling the tank up twice a week can become rather expensive. In addition, taking far roads trips were limited, and often times I had to rent another vehicle. In addition, the expense to maintain the vehicle, I think, was more often with this vehicle then previous ones. Since I knew I wanted to keep this vehicle, I had regular routine maintenance performed at every oil change. The cost added up, however I eluded any major car problems. Another issue... (more)

I liked it because it was a pick up truck and very affordable for a used truck. It's also very good in the snow. My dislikes are that it isn't that great on gas, maybe only 10 mpg in the city. That's a given seeing as how it's the bigger V8 edition. Most of the parts are affordable but there a select few that are expensive. I like to work on my on vehicles and it's pretty easy to work on until you try and do a tune-up or anything in the interior of the truck.
Story
I really enjoyed using the truck about two winters ago. It handles great in the snow but gave you the option of just using 2 wheel drive so you can put it sideways.
Pros
Comfortable interior, Roomy, Great in bad weather, Good six for a truck, Back has covers that keep items dry.
Cons
Body rot is a big issue with these trucks. Not that great on gas. Leather interior feels cheap. Some repair parts are expensive.
