2003 Chevrolet Malibu - Ehh-Mergency Purchase
On a road trip out to Los Angeles from Central Pennsylvania, my Volvo died somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Utah. Left with very few options, I ended up having to junk the car and find a way to get a fairly cheap used car to replace the Volvo. After browsing a few cars, I ended up with the Chevy Malibu. At first it was fairly acceptable. However, I soon began to discover all the issues it had. The coolant light constantly turns on even after filling up the coolant, my brakes need to be replaced as soon as possible, and the power controls of the car will randomly stop working. If I had better options and more time to get a car, I definitely would not have selected this one. However, it was an emergency purchase and I didn't have much of a choice.
Story
I finished up a fun-filled, crazy cross-country road trip in this car.
Pros
Low miles for the price I paid, comfortable seating, and headlights turn off automatically when car turns off.
Cons
Wonky power settings, poor brakes, poor gas mileage, no auxiliary port or tape player (NOT iPod ready), poor coolant system, dirt becomes more visible at a quicker rate because of the white color, not enough storage space in trunk (spare tire sticks out and can't be properly stored), gas tank is on passenger's side.
2003 Chevrolet Malibu - Grateful
I've owned quite a few cars and by far this is the best one. The ride is so smooth, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to buy their "first car". :)
Story
Whenever I first got the car me and my girlfriend went to the beach (over 3 hours away) and it used only half a tank. :)
