My Malibu is one of the greatest cars I have ever owned. My husband and I do a lot of traveling from Nebraska to North Carolina and all between to visit family and go on vacations. This car is built great for long trips with comfortable seating and smooth riding. The great gas mileage it a plus. The size of the interior is great for traveling with the large trunk that will fit all of our suitcases and still have room for things we buy while we are traveling. We have had no major problems with my car, other than normal things like oil changes.
Story
The first time I traveled west of Ohio was in my Malibu and it was the first time that I went across the Mississippi river.
Pros
The size of the seats and comfort while driving is amazing. I love the OnStar and am radio features and being able to link my phone to the Bluetooth for hands free talking and playing my music playlist off of my phone. The size of the trunk is great for traveling and fitting everything you need.
Cons
The only cons I have are the large blind spots from the beams by the windows, it took some time to get used to and learn where to look to be able to see everything.

2011 Chevrolet Malibu - Not user friendly.

Overall, I really enjoy my car. I have taken it on many road trips. I went to California twice -- which is 500 miles away from me. I also took it on many 50+ mile day trips. It still looks like a relatively new car. My sister once backed it up into my father's truck, so it has a significant dent in the rear passenger door. That obviously had nothing to do with the manufacturer, but it is worth noting that even with a dent, the paint did not scratch on the car, and I never had the car repainted. However, there are huge flaws in the design, and it has cost me a lot more than it's worth. At fewer than 100,000 miles, I had to replace the throttle body. It was dangerous too! It caused the car to go into engine power down mode and simulated traction control basically causing me to only go 30... (more)
Story
Although it's only front-wheel drive, it can drive up mountains well. I like to take it to Mt. Lemmon for daytrips to the pines.
Pros
This car is wonderful in design. It is sleek, and the lights and dash console make it more comparable to a luxury vehicle than a family sedan. The gear design is cool with it being a straight line rather than jaggedy like my Hyundai Elantra was. The blue lights above give the car a cool party vibe at night and makes the interior very visible at night which is great for road trips. I have the brown car with the tan interior, and it is definitely a very attractive car. I really like the change storage and the storage on the top of the dashboard. The addition of a purse hook would add value. ... (more)
Cons
This car has a lot of flaws that GM and Chevy have hopefully corrected in subsequent models of this vehicle. It is very difficult to change the headlights in this vehicle. You have to remove the bumper which is absurd. There is also a significant blind spot. My throttle body gave out after only five years. The car doesn't even come with a spare tire. I understand having the air compressor, and a patch can get most people to an automobile shop, but I once had a blowout that could not be patched and was stranded. I much would have preferred a spare tire to having to wait in the Phoenix, Ariz... (more)
