This vehicle is one of my favorite I have owned. This truck is one of the most sturdy I have driven. It was previously owned by a farmer, therefore has a lot of rust, and there are rattling noises as well as other odd sounds. However, the electronics and basic mechanical components are still the originals and have held up well over the decades. This truck has a very smooth ride. The transmission is strong and makes shifting and driving a pleasure.
Story
Driving through the creek down the road was more fun than I would have expected. When I almost got stuck and thought I may have to call for help my truck decided it was going to put a little extra in and roared as it pulled itself out.
Pros
This is the type of vehicle that most people would not give a second glance on the road. However, it is also a truck that will last forever in the right hands. Even with nearly two decades of road life and over 190,000 miles it shifts smoothly and drives nicely. Since it is a manual transmission gas mileage depends on the driver, therefore I usually get a decent 20-22 mpg on average, making it more fuel efficient than many newer trucks.
Cons
The only things that can be said to be negative about my truck are these, it rattles a little and it is a little beat up. However, both of these are just from the fact that this truck has been used as a truck, hauling and pulling farm equipment and supplies as needed.

My F150 was bought from a family friend at a really good price for a truck. My family needed a truck so I decided to buy one. Now obviously trucks aren't know for their gas mileage but this truck only gets around 8-10MPG if you drive efficiently with the AC/heater off. The cabin space inside the truck is huge. There's lots of space where you can fit 3 people up front and 3 people in the back. As far as being a truck the 1997 Ford F150 meets expectations. It's can easily carry a one-piece pre-made picnic bench or 2 large dressers in the back. If you're moving it carries a bunch of boxes full of stuff. My family was able to fit around 15 good sized boxes in the back as well as 2 lamps and a small desk. For the long term I wouldn't expect much. The interior leather seats are completely tr... (more)
Story
Family and I went to the forest to find and chop down a Christmas Tree. The truck was able to fit the Christmas tree in the cab.
Pros
Reliable. Lots of storage space (large cab).
Cons
Gas mileage sucks even for a truck. Seats are easily destroyed. Stuff goes wrong that isn't driving related (alarm, loud sounds).
