The 2017 Ford F-150 is a very good-looking vehicle and the sport model comes equipped with a number of extras like trailer-tow assist and back-up camera that drivers with trailers will find very useful.
Story
It's so comfortable on the back seat that our dogs spend most of the time sleeping rather than looking out the windows. I think our dogs are defective in that regard. :)
Pros
A thoroughbred off-road vehicle with on the fly 4x4 shifting, plus a locking electronic differential that automatically disengages when necessary. An upgrade to Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires (it comes equipped with the Goodyear Sport tire) is probably a must in mountain areas. The crew cab is enormous and ideal for large families or anyone who carries an above average number of products, tools, dogs and groceries or, in my case, photographic equipment. I've had four adults on the back seat, which was a bit of squeeze but was certainly helped by the large amount of legroom that is availa... (more)
Cons
The XLT does not come with GPS as standard (a $1,000 add-on) nor does it come with lane assist or blind spot assist. I believe that in this day and age such safety devices should come as standard. I don't know if it's a software glitch but the screen brightness for the display tends to dim (night mode) at very odd times. I now have the display set to "day" all the time to avoid this. The recall on seatbelt pretensioners (18S27) is disappointing but to-date is the only recall on this model that I've received.

I really was excited about getting a new F-150 as I had had several over the years. This truck was not just well designed, it was comfortable and had a great list of features. It was good on gas, could haul all my stuff easily and pull a trailer. All solid, F150 duties. That said, I have repeatedly had engine issues with the truck. Ford has tried several fixes, sent and installed a good section of the engine, but still I am having issues.
Story
Taking the truck over the continental divide while pulling a horse trailer.
Pros
Great hauling capability, good gas mileage, very comfortable
Cons
Serious concerns about the reliability of the engine.
