Great 4 x 4 truck for off roading. I like the four wheel drive especially while driving in deep soft sand in the desert. It fits the whole family comfortably. It tows a travel trailer with plenty of power and torque.
Story
Hunting/camping trip in truck to the Mojave Desert.
Pros
It gets very good gas mileage for a truck. It has excellent power for a v-6. Comfortable seating throughout. Looks stylish.
Cons
It's a great truck, but too expensive. I'm not sure how well the aluminum engine will last. Should have a larger standard gas tank. It can be difficult to park in tight spaces.

2014 Ford F-150 - F-150, a great all around truck.

I bought my F-150 used with only about 20,000 miles on. I've had it a few years, and it has a little over 45k now. It's been a great, reliable truck so far. It starts up every time, hasn't had any repair issues, and maintenance has been a breeze. It's styled nicely too, with a two-toned color scheme and piping down the side. It did have one small issue with the passenger side wiper not working correctly, but it turned out to be a simple wiring issue that was easily resolved at the dealership. Mine has a second row of seats, which is really helpful for towing the family around or even just hanging out with the boys. Most people don't realize, the F-150 actually has a full-size rear door; something that the Dodge Ram was lacking. When trying to squeeze two car seats in the back, having ... (more)
Story
Taking my boys out camping and hunting in the Carolina backwoods had to be the most memorable experience involving this truck. We had the thing loaded up, two men and two boys, along with all manner of hunting and hiking gear, food, camping supplies and beer. Even with a fully loaded truck, it's 4x4 capabilities handled the slick and muddy terrain fabulously. We did have a small hiccup out nea... (more)
Pros
Its reliability is really second to none. I haven't had a single mechanical hiccup with this truck, not even once. In the dead of winter, it starts up just fine, like nothing's even happened. Mine has 4x4--something I highly recommend. I've taken this truck on a few camping trips through the Carolina backwoods, and it's 4x4 has performed well every single time. Another great plus to this truck is the size of its cabin. In the front seat, you can comfortable fit three adults across, along with four in the back seat. People sitting in the middle don't have to settle for a lap belt either: th... (more)
Cons
I had one small problem with it in the three years I've owned it: The passenger side windshield wiper was malfunctioning. I thought it was a defective part, as it was intermittently responsive. Turns out, it was just a simple wiring mistaken, as was taken care of at the dealership rather quickly. I've heard from sound people that the transmissions on this model year F-150 are unreliable, and sometimes they wear out early at around 70,000. I personally don't have this many miles on the truck, and I don't tow anything; hopefully I'll never have this issue. For most people, the only real prob... (more)
