Best vehicle on the road fuel efficient. The gas mileage has become excellent especially with the raising prices of gas. I have a 4 cylinder and it can keep up with any car or truck. The vehicle is 3 years old, 16,000 miles and I've never had a problem yet. I can trust this vehicle to take me anywhere. The vehicle still has a new car smell. I don't travel a lot but when I do, it is very reliable in all areas. The tire wear is excellent. I have no rattles, dents or battle scars yet. The car is kept in a garage unless it is in use. I travel with kayaks and they fit excellent on the top and I have no problems going under bridges. The color of my vehicle is gray and I didn't realize there were so many shades of gray until I purchased this one. I can get lost in the mall parking lot real ea... (more)
Story
I guess this would be when I found out how many shades of gray there are. I came out of the mall and I saw were gray vehicles. Blowing the horn with my keys didn't help as I am hard of hearing and I have no direction of sound. I do not shop after dark.
Pros
Reliability i like the radio options, sync, blue tooth and the quality of the sound. It is easy to get into. Handles great in bad weather.
Cons
This will probably be my last vehicle purchase due to my age. I just hope it will last until I'm gone.

Being a previous Explorer owner, my heart was set on purchaser another. On a budget that I wasn't willing to compromise on - I left the dealer with a red 2012 Ford Explorer. To my surprise it was a pleasant ownership experience and I was able to do most of the things I did in a larger vehicle. When doing hardware stops I simply let down the back seats and loaded things in. The car ran well with no glitches or problems.
Story
Best times were loading the suv and going on road trips with the family. A favorite was doing short weekend visits to the shore or to pop up at friends and families for special events and other celebrations.
Pros
Although smaller than my previous SUV's, it handled well and still allowed me to pack a WHOLE of stuff in it. It was comfortable on long drives and I enjoyed the heated seats. Great on gas as well.
Cons
The interior wasn't that impressive. I wish they would have invested more on the look, it definitely had an economy car feel. The Ford Navigation system was HORRIBLE. It was useless and did not work appropriately most of the time even with operator assistance. While I appreciated the folding down rear seats for more cargo space, there were multiple steps to get it done.
