Overall, I think that the vehicle is well built with good quality. I do not like how there were recalls on parts that affected the overall safety of the vehicle when it was purchased brand now. There are older models of ford escapes, and I am not sure if there were problems similar to those I had with my model. I had my passenger side doors fly open while I was driving to work, and I had to get the latches replaced on all four doors on the vehicle. I also had an urgent recall and had to have my entire fuel pump system replaced. My panel on the inside of my door came loose six months after the latches were replaced, and I had to go back to the dealership to have another panel placed on because it was out of warranty coverage. Despite all of the issues I have had with this vehicle, I hav... (more)
Story
I had a lot of fun driving this vehicle around downtown Dallas, it seats five including the driver. I drove a few friends and myself to the reunion tower to eat at Wolf Gang Puck, and the SUV handles quietly and well. I felt safe driving there for dinner, and I feel safe when I am out and about daily driving.
Pros
It has a good amount of space for an SUV, the backseats fold down for carrying large items. I get great city and highway mileage. There is also a hands-free Bluetooth system that I use a lot that comes in handy. I can make calls with a touch of a button on the steering wheel (so not completely hands free). Listen to my old iPod as there is an aux port in the console. There are two charging outlets in the front, and you are able to charge via USB port as well. The seats are comfortable, and the windshield is big. The back windshield has a wiper the same as the front. Also, the seats are eas... (more)
Cons
I have had two recalls on important parts on a new model of a well established vehicle is not acceptable for this brand. The Ford Escape has been around a while, and there are several different models of it. I do not think there should be two to three recalls on a new vehicle that has been made before for the last several years. There is space in the vehicle, but I think the SUV itself could be engineered to have a bulkier frame in terms of safety. The trunk also has a net built in to hold groceries in place. I think the fuel tank should have a button inside the SUV to open before you get ... (more)

I love this car!!! It is roomy without completely taking over your garage. It has a really smooth ride. It seats 5 comfortably, with enough room in the cargo area for all your toys. The Escape has the option to turn into a manual which I like, because I want to feel like I am in control when I drive. I also like how high it sits, because when I come out of the gym I just slide right in and my aching muscles appreciate that a lot. It is also the perfect height for drive thru's. No longer do I have to stretch and reach to get my food, or take off my seat belt. I also like the display, it is a really neat electric blue. The back up camera was a necessity for me and I love it. The issues I have had so far include that the back seats are not that comfortable for long drives. Also when you t... (more)
Story
I have a rack on top of it for my kayak and I took it to the lake. It is so nice to be able to get to the lake more often instead of begging people for rides.
Pros
I like the back up camera, this is my first car with one and it is a must have. I also like the Bluetooth built in for hands free talking and driving. It works very well and no one has complained yet that they can't hear me. I like the roomy cargo area. I like the way the back seat folds down so I can get my large objects in there when needed. I also like the way it drives, it is very smooth and easy to maneuver, it has a good turn radius for its size.
Cons
I do not like the back seat for long drives, they do not have a lot of padding. I also would have liked cup holders in the backseat - they have a space on the door for a water bottle but it wouldn't hold a cup of soda from a restaurant. The gas mileage isn't that great when you run the air conditioner, but I need A/C.
