I believe the 2002 Chevy Impala is one of the better, if not best, vehicles on the market. So far, it is the best Chevy vehicle I have owned. Being a used car, I didn't expect it to be great. But it has been a very good choice for me so far. It has been extremely dependable in all aspects. The body is sturdy, it drives and handles with great precision, even in rain and snow. I feel confident driving this car. It is not super light-weight like smaller cars, so this makes it a charm to drive in various weather conditions. I also enjoy driving my Chevy Impala because the seats are very comfortable, enough space for passengers as well. The roomy interior makes it a nice car to make long trips without being squished in and uncomfortable. The only thing I dislike is it tends to be a bit of ... (more)
Story
I live in a very small town. I am not the only one that has a vehicle like mine. I have, on two separate occasions, come out of a store and climbed into someone else's Impala. One still had the keys in it. When I started it, the radio worked, so I knew it wasn't mine. Theirs had a custom stereo system.
Pros
I like that it isn't light-weight. That it handles well. It has some kick. It doesn't drive like an "old lady car." It's roomy and easy to get in and out of. It's quiet. It's pretty. It's easy to get replacement parts. Nice interior. No rips or tears in the inside at all.
Cons
It uses more gas then a smaller car. The stock radio sucks.

When I first bought this car, I was unsure if I was going to like it or not. It seemed a bit clunky and a little bit slow. But now that I've gotten used to the gas pedal and the amount of pick up that has, I really enjoy it. It is prone to rust on the frame if you live in a salty environment like the coast, which I do. Overall, a great value for the car. It has over 100,000 miles and still is running strong.
Story
Actually, I only bought the vehicle two weeks ago, but I've been using it to run everybody around. I actually just got a free massage from the masseuse who works across the street for giving her a ride to Portland. We didn't have a place to do it, so she actually just gave me a massage right in my car. it was pretty cool. Thank you Chevy Impala.
Pros
The amount of pickup that it has. It's a really great engine. The 3800 series motor is a solid Chevy drivetrain. The amount of power this car has. It gets pretty good gas mileage. The build quality is really solid, like when the doors close, it just feels secure. I feel really safe in this vehicle. The seats are really good and kind of hug you with the leather. I feel like this vehicle will be good for another 200,000 miles easily.
Cons
This vehicle is prone to rust. Also, it has trouble with things like sensors. The O2 sensors and ABS sensors tend to go bad after about 120,000 miles. The tire size is a bit expensive and harder to find used. The rocker panels were completely rusted out. I still occasionally get on the dashboard which don't come inside with any actual problems. It's not the prettiest vehicle in the world. It's kind of like a silver box with wheels.
