The build quality is great. This car looks like new to a casual observer. It was scratched up by a previous owner, and we were able to buff out the paint even with its age. The car handles well in heavy stop/go traffic. It doesn't pick up on the freeway like a sports car to merge in, but if you're a steady cautious driver, this is the car for you. Excellent braking and maneuvering in emergencies. The lines of the body are pleasant to look at, no weird outcroppings or attachments. It's a good car if you need to make an impression for work. The interior is spectacularly comfortable. On the downside, there is a lot of under-body and crevice rust. If we bought this again, we would get it undercoated and monitor it carefully for rust beginning so we could treat it. We really love this car.
Story
We took this vehicle up to Point Defiance Park, which is wooded and hilly, and must set a world record for winding 1-1/2 lane roads. It handled well, but at the time, we were worried about the wildlife that lined the roads looking for handouts. We didn't want to get home with a raccoon stowed away on a mirror or something.
Pros
Top positives are the sturdiness/safety and the comfort on long drives (driver and front seat passenger). The car handles well in rainy Washington weather and corners well, which is important on the winding hilly roads we have here. I feel safe having children and pets in the car with us. There's an incredible amount of trunk space; we put a Christmas tree in there tied down and haven't yet found the quantity of luggage or groceries it won't hold.
Cons
The gas mileage on this vehicle is not stellar, which may partly be due to its age. There is some body rust issue; however, we're in a seaside town where it rains six months every year, and we've also had a mailbox rust on us. One thing we do dislike is that the car was not designed for add-on navigation tools and is somewhat awkward to tune the radio, or to adjust the heater or A/C while driving. We just make sure this is done before we start out.
