I bought my 2011 Chevy Impala approximately 6 years ago. It has been one of the most trustworthy cars, of the 4 that I have owned in my lifetime. There have only been 2 occasions, that my car did not start. One was because of a faulty Stabilitrak sensor, that ended up being a factory recall. The other time that my car broke down was due to a dead battery, which I should have replaced previous to it breaking down. It is large enough to fit 5 people very comfortably, yet small enough to park in a compact car parking spot. While I do not get terrible gas mileage, the car was advertised to get 32 mpg, and I get about 20 mpg, which is significantly lower than the car boasts. However, I do a lot of interstate driving, so that could be why. Overall, it is one of the best cars that I have owned.
Story
I use it to drive for Uber, and have had a lot of humorous experiences in the car with my Uber passengers. One night, an Uber passenger proposed and she said, "Yes!"
Pros
I could always count on the vehicle. I love that I can park it in a compact car spot, yet fit 5 people comfortably in my car. My favorite part about the car was the large trunk. It could fit a lot of items in there.
Cons
My StabiliTrak warning light comes on about 50% of the time that I am driving on the interstate in the rain. That has only been a true problem on one occasion, where the car shut down completely. At that point, I had to wait by the side of the road for 15 minutes, before I could start my car, and continue to work with no problem (besides being late for work.) Also, my car is a 6 cylinder, and I expected it to have more power than what it does. For example, I drive frequently on the interstate, and I have a lot of opportunities to pass, that I do not take, as I know that my car does not hav... (more)

I spent over six months researching used cars and this was the best one I could find with the combination of great price with low mileage (only 21K miles for a 5yr old car! Sign me up!). It is the base model but still packs a lot of great features. Sirius/XM radio, cruise control, power seats just to name a few. The car has a beefy 6cyl engine and man does it get up and go on the highway. Very comfortable and quiet ride on the highway as well. Only problem I've had so far over the last year is a small rattle from the the rear passenger area, but I think it is merely a loose clamp that holds the exhaust up. Other than that the car runs, looks, and feels great. This vehicle has black exterior with a light grey cloth interior and all power windows. The dealership I purchased from did have... (more)
Story
After first bringing the car home my wife was dying to drive it. She always drives the family SUV and I was changing over from a pickup truck. The look on her face when we went out for a drive (from the acceleration difference on the Impala vs. our SUV) was a picture of beauty and hilarity all at once.
Pros
Value (price compared to mileage on car at time of purchase), gas mileage, smooth, quiet ride and overall look are very pleasing
Cons
The small rattle is trivial and easily repairable. This is an overall great everyday commuter vehicle and still has the ability to haul the family on long trips if necessary.
