What I like about my truck is that it is a very popular vehicle to own in the Hispanic community. As soon as I saw it, I knew that I wanted to purchase it. I hadn't even checked the mileage or anything else. Of course, my dad was with me when I bought it, so he helped me out with the other specific things you need to check before you buy a vehicle. This is pretty much the reason why I bought this truck. I thought I would get a lot of attention. I had also heard the Chevrolet trucks are really reliable and can survive a lot of mileage. What I also liked about it was that it had a pretty good engine. A V8 5.3 engine as a matter of fact. This meant that I would do pretty good on the race track. Some things I didn't like about it was that one of the windows was bad. It seems that it had go... (more)
Story
I have gone to a lot of hiking trips here in the city with my truck. It is great as we carry our bikes and other materials in the back. My most memorable moment was when I went camping to the Jemez Springs. It was my first time camping.
Pros
It is a really popular vehicle in the Hispanic community. All I had to do was add some rims and a surround system, and it would be moving heads. It is a pretty strong vehicle. With over 275 horsepower, it runs amazing. I'm a speed junky, so I'm in love with it. Another pro is that it is a truck. That means I can carry loads in the back. It is pretty good for moving furniture or throwing away large pieces of trash. I helped a lot of friends and family with moving their furniture or helping them with other similar tasks. The seats are also really comfortable. They are not made of leather, so... (more)
Cons
There were a few negative things about this truck. One of them is that I waste a lot of money on gas. It uses up tons of fuel. It is a V8 engine, and I use up about 50 dollars every two weeks on fuel. This means that I can't take my truck on trips out of state. It is just not a good idea. When I go on trips outside of the state, I need to use someone else's car. Another bad thing about this truck is that it attracts a lot of attention. This means that I have gotten broken into my truck many times. It is really easy to brake into my truck. I have gotten broken into like 5 times now. They ha... (more)

My Chevy Silverado 1500 was a pretty impractical buy for me at the time I drove it off the lot. I was a recent college graduate in Information Technology working his first full-time job. This truck was an instant gratification buy. I was young, had money, and thought it would be fun to drive such a large vehicle. The truck was two years old, used and had under 20,000 miles on it. The feeling of getting up in the driver's seat was something I've never before felt. You sit up high and feel like you have good power behind you. It was this sense of power and safety while standing out that I really liked. It came with some bells and whistles such as extra towing power, cruise control, electronic moving seats, and electronic gauges that showed your average miles per gallon among othe... (more)
Story
One of my favorite memories driving this truck in my location was that it was so useful to be able to carry both my wife's and my bikes as well as some others at the same time. This was awesome as we have many parks and even pretty back woods country not too far from us. It was really nice to have such a versatile truck.
Pros
The biggest positives about the truck are the smooth drive and quietness. I never heard many creaks or anything like that while driving. I also loved the fact that the cab doors opened all the way up. I appreciated the seats folding the way they did so that I could haul things on the inside if raining. The truck bed was a good size and very useful when any friend needed moving. I also enjoyed the dashboard console that would show mileage left on current tank as well as average miles per gallon. I also like that the truck was able to support OnStar.
Cons
The cons I came across were that the tires always seemed to wear down faster in this truck than I have ever experienced. I also felt like the eco-friend feature was kind of a worthless and didn't save much in gas mileage in the long run. Personally, the car was no practical for a person like me driving to work and back in long distances. I would also prefer to have one large driver side drawer than two that open in opposite directions.
