Our truck 12 years old now. Has not given us severe problems, just wear and tear things that go along with every car/truck anyone purchases. This truck has taken us thru rides in the country, it has been thru moves from one place to another. It's a smooth ride to this day. We're able to load it up with furniture. We've even carried rocks, bricks, and the ride still is smooth. Has a V8 engine, and it works GREAT.
Story
This baby has gone all over the country, to the beach, and just sitting high, is good for me. I love trucks, and I'm happy with it. Something that makes me proud.
Pros
I like the color that we chose, and that would be an Emerald Green. Although we see many others with this same color, we always seem to look at those, and what we look like on the road in it. We have some nice tires and rims on it, We have received good comments about them. Tires are still in good condition, being that we bought them in 2011. We have a simple radio, nothing elegant. Air-condition still works excellent to this day. We're proud it has lasted this long, because we don't want another payment at this time. Don't need to. Cons
The only thing that I can say, is that we have some scratches that people have done to our truck, not happy about it, but that just goes to show when people see our truck, they know somebody mean out there, did that on purpose, to be mean, or jealous. It shows us that we are proud of our truck, and no matter where you go, someone is probably going to do some damage to it. Our seats in the front have a little tear on them, but what's great, is that it runs smooth, and that's what counts. Material things can get redone, and that's not a problem, as the material on top. I liked that the car made me seem like I was of a higher economic standing than I actually am. It was definitely a fun car to drive and whenever I gave people rides they expressed how nice it was in comparison to their vehicles. Over the years, though, I spent a lot of money on even regular maintenance let alone special circumstances. The car requires premium gasoline and nearly all the parts need to be OEM to run efficiently. The parts are a quite hard to find for a decent price, and mechanics will take advantage of that and charge you extra just to work on the car.
Story
Every Wednesday during summers I would drive the car to the beach at 1 or 2am with the sunroof open. It was very relaxing and therapeutic. One of my absolute favorite memories with my car.
Pros
The car has a good and strong engine, with excellent acceleration on the highway. The trim you get with the car is a bit monotonous in earlier models, but the build quality of the leather interior, the sound system of the stock audio, and the overall comfort of the car is second to few. The status that comes with driving a BMW is also nice, it makes people feel as if you are wealthy and have a luxurious lifestyle.
Cons
The biggest negative I can say about this car (and all European imports) is that it is very very expensive to maintain and you don't forget it. The mileage really isn't the best so you are constantly at the pump, and when you are there you are shelling out extra money for premium gasoline, because 87 gas will make the car run terribly. Taking the car to the dealership (or the stealership as many BMW owners refer to it) will cost you an arm and a leg to get even the simplest repairs done.
