The vehicle is used to haul around 5 kids and 2 adults daily from work to after school activities and family road trips to Louisiana. The space is there for us; I love the walk through that is located on the second row. This allows us to get to the third row very easily. I also enjoy the smooth ride and how easily the truck maneuvers when driving it. So far, it has hardly needed any repairs, so it is definitely reliable. For some reason, my kids do not get in and out of the vehicle easily; they are always slipping out when trying to put their feet on the side step. I don't like how heavy the trunk door is when opening and closing it. The trunk space is so tiny for us as well. The issues I have with the truck are cosmetic and minor. I can say it is reliable, but I think we have outgrown... (more)
Story
We drove to Grand Prairie, TX, this past Christmas and took the truck through the prairie lights. The lights is set up along a 2-mile road, and the truck has to go about 10 mph with no lights on. I feel confident in knowing the truck would be no problem for that drive. My kids had so much fun relaxing in the back and enjoying all the lights the truck drove through.
Pros
The positives were the vehicle does give us good mileage driving a big family around. The vehicle comes with a second row pass through that goes to the third row. The vehicle can fit a family of 7, and that is not too common. The truck lasts a long time with the standard tune ups for any vehicle. The truck is easy to keep clean with its outside body style. The truck is not made with a bulky look on the outside. The vehicle has good mileage; I only fill up once a week, and that is driving within one city daily. The seats are adjustable, so you can easily find your comfort. I also like how t... (more)
Cons
The vehicle does not fit a growing family with mainly boys. When getting in and out of the truck, my younger kids always slip out. They find it hard to step onto the little step outside of the back door. When I need to use the trunk, it is so heavy to let up and close down. I find that the trunk space is not made for a big family; it is so small. We have to use the small back window to load items in the trunk instead of opening the big door. I don't like that the third-row seats don't recline back a little for the other kids. I also find that the buttons to turn on the radio is inconvenie... (more)

We purchased this Tahoe as we pull a boat and seem to always be hauling around stuff. To us, the Tahoe seems to be the same quality as the much higher-priced Escalade. While it does not get the greatest mileage, it makes up for that in comfort and reliability. We have well over 100,000 miles on this vehicle and have spent very little on repairs. We recently discussed replacing it, and our mechanic said he felt it was in great shape and saw no need for us to do so. The interior is nice with smooth leather and sleek lines,
Story
My husband was driving off somewhere, and one of our foster sons wanted to go with him. He said no and the teen jumped onto the sideboard and hung on. (Everyone was laughing this is not a terrible story!) In efforts to make get him off, my husband drove up against some hedges. The end results were some scrapes on the passenger side, a broken antenna and a happy kid that discovered the back doo... (more)
Pros
Our Tahoe pulls our 23-foot boat with ease. It has great visibility. The last row of seats comes out, and you can haul a ton of stuff in the back. There also are built-in racks on top to tie even more things to! One of my favorite features is the radio controls on the steering wheel. You don't have to take your hands off the wheel to change stations. The dual air conditioning is another great feature. The kids are never screaming that it's too cold/too hot in the back. This is a great multi-purpose vehicle. Family trips, work, tow, camping, it just works for everything! Oh yeah! It holds t... (more)
Cons
Being honest this vehicle gets terrible gas mileage. When we are towing the boat, it is even worse! However it's the price we pay to tow with ease. It's high up. Trying to fill washer fluids or oil for me means getting on a chair or stool. While the leather seats are lush and look so good, I hate when my bare legs stick to the seats! Due to its size, this is also a hard vehicle to park in tight spots. I hate the way the spare tire is situated. It's pouring rain and you are on the ground putting together a metal rod that you then have to reach thru under the car and unscrew what holds the s... (more)
