When in the market for a larger vehicle, I chose the Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ. I have had it for a few years now and have been for the most part satisfied. There are good things about the vehicle. The first is that it can carry up to seven passengers. Next is it has an DVD system, which is a plus if you have children. Also, when watching a movie (from the backseat), the children can wear headphones if they want and listen to the movie, while the driver (and front passenger) can still listen to the radio. This vehicle has a power sunroof which is nice. It also has power seats (that are also heated), power windows and locks. It also has a remote start, which is great. The remote start will adjust temperatures accordingly. If it is hot out and I remote start, the vehicle will cool down. If it ... (more)
Story
We have taken many road trips in our vehicle. We've visited 13 states so far and hope to visit many more in it.
Pros
The positive things are the size, the features and the how easy it is to drive. My favorite thing is the GPS. I rely on a GPS to get me places I have never been and I have not been led astray once. I also like the DVD system for the kids. I like the auto start on the vehicle also.
Cons
There are a few cons to owning this vehicle. First, there is a problem with the actuator in the door locks. This is a VERY common problem with Chevrolet Tahoes (but as of yet no recall has been sent out). Since having this vehicle, I have had to replace all actuators in all doors (at a cost of $400 per door) and that is not cheap! Also, the back door (back hatch) went out and we had to have the hydraulics replaced (another $600). Without working hydraulics, the back door will not open at all. It is entirely too heavy to open without it. Also, another thing that is common with Tahoes is tha... (more)

I like the overall look of my Chevy. I have a black Tahoe with leather seats and wood grain. Although it's been quite a few years since I purchased it, it still looks to be in very good condition. I also like the performance of the vehicle. We travel 800+ miles about three times per year to visit my parents and it has been a very reliable vehicle with a smooth ride.
Story
A fun and memorable occasion in the Chevy Tahoe is going to the drive inn. We back up into our chosen spot, keep the back doors open and sit in the back of the tahoe covered with blankets while we eat not so healthy snacks and enjoy the movie. Its nostalgic for me because it takes me back to when i was a kid and my parents would do the same in our Suburban.
Pros
The top positives of the vehicle for my family has been the space that is available for our suitcases. Whether it be on the top rack or by taking out the third row seats or putting them down. I like that it can provide for a comfortable ride since we travel by road a lot. Also, with an infant it comes in handy to have separate controls to customize control settings for the air conditioning. I like that my son will not be overheated in the back in his car seat, but also won't be too cold since I can close the vents or keep it at different degrees of coolness.
Cons
One of my passenger doors seems to get stuck. It has been fixed since I took it to the dealership and I was told that it is common for that to happen in the make and model of my vehicle. I recently noticed that there is a crack where my airbag is on the top of the dash. I don't know why that would happen since we have never been involved in any accidents, major or minor. However, it does worry me that if we were involved in a minor accident that the airbag would deploy even if it was not necessary due to the crack. I need to contact the company to see how to proceed.
