Reliable Spacious SUV
I have had my Tahoe for almost ten years and (knock on wood) I haven't had any major mechanical problems with it. It has been reliable and has never broken down. The car has had an electrical problem since I bought it, and no one (including the Chevy dealer) has been able to fix it. It doesn't affect the way the car drives, but it means that I always have at least a couple of lights out. The interior has held up well over time despite having dirt, makeup, coffee, and you-name-it spilled on it. The front seats are large and roomy, but the back two rows are very uncomfortable. Since I have always had long commutes to work and school, I love that this car is huge and has a ton of space for me to keep extra clothes, makeup, overnight bags, etc. The paint and exterior plastic has not held up too well, and the car is definitely showing its age. The car does not accelerate too well, but that's not really a priority for me. The brakes wear very quickly, and it's expensive to keep getting them replaced. Also, the fuel economy is garbage.

2006 Chevy Tahoe is a great vehicle!
We purchased our 2006 Chevy Tahoe three years ago. At the time of purchase it had 220,000 miles on it. Those kind of miles may scare a lot of people away from a purchase, but we chanced it. Let me tell you it was one of the best choices we have ever made. We have take numerous long trips in it from central Missouri to Florida and Colorado. The truck has always performed perfectly never leaving us stranded. All the seats are comfortable and can seat a large family. When we first purchased it, we took it to our local shop to rebuild the front end and put new tires on it. We have had to get out in the snow on two different occasions and the truck's four-wheel drive performed perfectly getting us to and from our destination. We also love to take it to our towns drive-in movie theater where we take out the back seat and inflate a air bed for the kids to lay down while they watch the movie. I would say for as big of a vehicle that it is it does get fair gas mileage. The best we ever got was 23 miles per gallon on one of our Florida trips. On those long trips your kids will be thankful do to all the extra leg room both back seats have. They are large enough for an adult to even sit in the back while being plenty comfortable.

I love my Tahoe!
I've had my Tahoe for going on 3 years now. I bought it used and was a bit skeptical about how well it would do with it being an older model. It turned out to be a great investment! The Tahoe is very comfortable to both drive and ride in. I've taken it on several road trips that have all gone smoothly.
