2012 Chevrolet Tahoe - I'm a fan, but it's had its quirks.

I have a 2012 Chevy Tahoe. It's not a four-wheel drive, but still handles well in bad weather. It has plenty of room to accommodate the eight passengers it will hold. The seats have several adjustments, to fit drivers of many sizes and heights. After about six months of having it, I had some weird issues with it. While driving down the road, it would try to accelerate on its own, cycle the locks on and off and suddenly shut off, making it nearly impossible to steer it safely off the road. Apparently all of this craziness was caused by a faulty battery cable. Once that was resolved, I haven't had any further problems. Well, with the exception of a little rattle in the back window. I think it has to do with the gadget that controls the defroster. It often rattles, while I'm driving, and ... (more)
Story
Christmas shopping at the mall can sometimes be a nightmare. People just sit in lines in the parking lot, not moving, staring at each other to see who will go next. After about 15 minutes of this, I visualized an opportunity for a quick escape. There was a sidewalk next to the drive headed out. The traffic was deadlocked, and no one would go. So, I took advantage of the clearance on the vehicl... (more)
Pros
It has a flex fuel option, so I can use E85 gasoline, which saves me money. The gas pedal moves, so it can come closer to a shorter person and allows them to get further from the steering wheel. All of the back seats can be removed if necessary, making it easy to clean or haul larger items. The front seats are heated, making it nice for winter.
Cons
The back seats are not heated. None of the seats have the ability to cool themselves in hot weather. There is not a built-in DVD player. There is not a sun roof. The back hatch door is manual close and open. There is not an option for remote or keyless entry.

2012 Chevrolet Tahoe - Perfect family car.

I like the size of the vehicle, it is very spacious on the inside. I have over 100,000 miles and it still runs perfectly, I can tell that it was built well. Although most SUVs are spacious, my Tahoe allows me to fold the seats easily in a way that I am able to fit my toddler and 3 large dogs plus everyone's luggage when we go out of town! The power lift gate is a great bonus. I absolutely love the remote start, it is very handy when the weather is cold as I can get in a warm car with the windshield already defrosted, it even turns the seat warmers on! Overall, I am happy with my purchase. Although this car was quite expensive for a used car, I believe that it has held it's worth and has withstood a lot of city and highway driving in all weather conditions.
Story
The most fun I have had driving this vehicle was on a beach trip. We were able to drive on the beach in my vehicle and it was such a unique and memorable experience.
Pros
It is programmed to turn off half of the cylinders in the engine when you are maintaining a constant speed, this is very helpful as it decreases gas consumption while not decreasing power or performance. I love the power fold down seats, this is very helpful when loading a large item when I have my hands full. My interior is leather and it has held up really well, no fading, cracking, or ripping. The gas and brake pedals can be moved with the push of a button, which is very helpful when someone with shorter or longer legs needs to drive my car. The backup camera and parking sensors are ver... Cons
There is a small plastic wind flap underneath the front bumper, this sometimes scrapes on high curbs or parking stops. The paint is chipping off of the temperature adjust buttons even though they aren't frequently touched. Maintenance can be expensive, the tires are large and therefore cost more and it takes synthetic oil which is also expensive.
